Nigerian Police Have Increase Their Bribe Fee Due To The Festive Period! by Tekepama: 9:51am On Nov 18, 2011
Yesterday evening on my way home at akanimodo going to ikorodu road lagos. The police men at the junction stopped my bus drive and ask him for the money:

POLICE: Oya wa the money
DRIVER: Take

The driver now brought out fifty naira and gave it to the police man, to my greatest surprise the police man refuse it and I thought they have repented not for me to hear him say…

POLICE: Na 100 naira be my money
DRIVER: Watin happen she be na 50 naira ona dey collect before
POLICE: u no know say Christmas don come.
DRIVER: I no get 100 Naira ho, abeg manage am
POLICE: Because I just tell u this night tomorrow no forget ho

And so he collected the money before we left the place. Somebody in the bus now said that they should remove their uniform and start robbing, because there is no difference between arm robbers and our Nigeria police men.

The only way to overhaul the nig police is to invite all the police members to a money sharing meeting (with this sort of invitation all of them are sure to attend) and take all of them 6ft down, then start all afresh in recruiting people to the force. With the kid glove treatments and lip services to addressing the menace of this force to the taxpayers, i doubt if change is forthcoming. the rampage continues

Na today? Since I've been passing through Chevron roundabout along Lekki- Ajah route for over a year now and in the evening anything after seven, the police there has never collected less than 100 naira from commercial drivers. What one can easily conclude is even the minimum wage of the police is 1m per month they will still collect bribe because it's in their blood rank and file.

You know, they collect money according to location. Lek area is bigger boys area and the vehicle fee is more expensive compare to mile 12 area.

I believe that very soon they will increase the money in Ur area from N100 to N150 or rather N200 grin grin grin grin grin

the increment is over a month. More worrisome is that the police men dare to injure cummuters if they (cummuter) should ever give them the old 'fee' of N5O especially along Ijeshatedo and Ejigbo areas of Lagos .

The only way we can help remove all this bribe collectors off the road is by taking picture of them (pals make sure say they no see u ho, else Na gobs) and put it on the net, like fairyland where nobody know Ur identity.

If they don’t come to nafairyland believe one of their family members is on nafairylandnd will send the message to them.

Seconded.

Agree totally with you on that. I believe it will have a very good impact. Can we all agree to pull off this regularly? (please apply discretion o)

They truly entertain good.
When I was in Naija and I was stopped at one big crossroad out of Agege by the police.
They sent their girl police tongue to talk 2 me. Men, she asked the usual fee of N100 but she was talking, dancing, lafing, touching kiss , putting all her body through the window. I must say this is N100 well spent. After I go still saluting when I looked my backmirrow.
From that time on when i'm around I have 2 pass my favorite policegirl checkpoint. tongue wink

Customs are moneydemons when you import goods they don't have concience, and their fees are the hardest to bid down.

The ideals in this country have gone to a record low. People are no longer ashamed to display their corrupt nature in public. Shame shame shame.

I see the end of this ASAP. Just 'et's wait and see. A time comes when the only duty of the poice at highways will be to check you and ask for no BRIBE whatsoever. So shall it be.

Things ain't gonna change if we keep talking without action. Lets all brain storm for solution e.g hidden cams could help, there r several cams available in the market today, from pen to button camera, even tiny car cam that can be hidden by the driver's side, such evidence when collected could be loaded on youtube, sold to media houses, sent to NA , IGP and who ever gives a damn in the system. Lawyers in the house should also volunteer to take up such cases and see them to a logical conclusion, this is one way we can begin our migration from a rotten Nigeria to the Nigeria of our dream.
Re: Nigerian Police Have Increase Their Bribe Fee Due To The Festive Period! by onothai: 6:50am On Nov 19, 2011
Is a very big shame to our police men, sometimes their oga will just send them out to go and hustle for him. I think is right time Nigerians will start calling radio stations to report them on air, immediately we see them collecting the money somebody should call and give information on air, like the position of the check point that is collecting the bribe immediately. Honestly i think the media need to assist in the fight to eradicate this shameful act.
