Save the number below as a scammer on your phone.

This fellow tried to scam me yesterday.

He was to receive payment from his buyer claiming i was a delivery company delivering the phone.
Sent his own account details to his buyer.
Once he received the money he would disappear.

Be careful avoid 3rd party sales.

Always ask questions no matter how foolish with whomever your transacting with.

Note, he contacted me via jiji and his account has been blocked after i reported him.

I spoke with him at length because i forgave him and he acted like he was sorry but till now his fake company Display picture is still on his whatsapp.

He will make someone cry if you do not stop him.

Hello everyone.

I want to report the problematic dealings that I and another Nairalander have had with the user Checkout996 (Mayor Muse Folawiyo).

I made a transaction with him to purchase a smartphone, on March 17th and it has been headaches and problems since then. I was purchasing it as a gift, so I asked that it'd be delivered before the 21st of April, to which he assured me it would arrive before then.

Please note, before purchasing, I asked for his best assurances that he was legit, to which the best he could do was show me screenshots from some of his previous customers. I was desperate, seeing as all the other Nairalanders providing similar services could not purchase a device of that price, but he said he'd get it for me off Amazon instead of eBay as I had originally planned. I decided to go along with him, especially as his rates were attractive.

The 21st of April eventually came around and he said the phone had gone missing in transit, according to the shipping company, though the two accessories I bought had arrived (he later revised and said that only one accessory had ever arrived, which was a charger which I'm sure he bought locally as it was a UK plug instead of US). However, he said the smartphone was insured and he would get a refund for it.
He claims that his two Amazon accounts were locked and that that was what caused the issue.

Since then, it has been me constantly calling and messaging and getting no response 90% of the time. He claims he has been locked up, he has had to pay others, so many different excuses that make it seem that I am no closer to getting my money back.

It was during this time that I was contacted by another person who had transacted with him and was in a similar situation for a similar sum of money. In total, the man owes me N460,000.

I actually do not know how to proceed, so I would love suggestions. I know how he looks and have pictures of him. But I do not know his address and he is currently proving unreachable over phone calls and Whatsapp.

These are his two phone numbers:
09083581093
08080791588

I honestly think I and the other guy have both been patient enough, as despite numerous promises to pay by 'the end of the day' or 'tomorrow', I have not received a single kobo back from him. I am honestly tired.

I don't know what can be done at this point, but note the name and numbers, so as not to fall victim to him.

I don't want to conclude yet that you have been scammed though it's been 4months and counting.

Also, if the seller will ever come forward to narrate what went wrong ever since then it would be easier saying what I have in mind.

But then, most of the blame is on you sir, you were desperate to part with such huge amount of money without due diligence, and on just the basis of screenshots of previous businesses which could be doctored.

Well, I just hope for your sake and the others that "he" replies and sorts things out.

Your third paragraph is super unnecessary. He didn't come to ask for a reprimand, he came for solutions.

Come down from that high horse and give him solutions, cos nothing wey you type go help am.

Baba, his account is new. He created the account Feb 2021 and you trusted him with your funds. You didn't ask for vouch?

I already realize it was my fault and I've owned the L. My usual providers couldn't do it and I made the mistake of using him.
