There was a huge gulf until we signed Sancho and Varane.

The midfield is where we’re really thin compared to city.

Thing is they have quality attacking players who will deputize perfectly in midfield without the team suffering in attacking positions.

If we drop Bruno to CM- he can do a very good job there, he will be missed in AM.

If B. Silva drops to CM, Mahrez will handle LWF perfectly.

Their high line is really enticing, and I expect United to take advantage of it, especially as there’s no Vestergaard in their defence anymore.

James might start, so as to exploit that high line with his speed, but whether he has the awareness to run in-behind when necessary isn’t exactly sure.

McTominay is not a DM at all so you are very wrong on this one. McTominay is a CM. This is not about trashing our players to make the manager look good. I no send the manager but that does not mean one should make emotional statements.

For team that dominates possession that recycling possession that you so easily glossed over is the most important role of a DM. Rodri as a DM is better than all our players bar Matic whose spirit is willing but body is weak.

He is not a good passer because he plays at City, he plays at City because he is a good passer.

Of course they would tell us Man Utd's and Man City's teams are on the same level because that leaves one thing, coaching/managing. Sometimes i wonder if these people watch football at all. How can you ignore the fact that a coach would likely play 2 CMs to provide a decent makeshift defensive shield? And those CMs better not go forward, hence collapsing the purpose for which they were brought together when one of them should be playing a traditional CM role. Besides, even as players that are much better utilized as CM, you never see adjectives like "really good", "great", when we talk about them in comparison with other central midfielders. Even though i believe Man Utd should consider firing Ole if he fails again since others were not given enough in time and leeway. Besides, it's very obvious the man is learning on the job, and he makes mistakes worth considering in a decision to extend his contract or not, especially more recently the goalkeeper issue in the Europa finals(I have still not watched the penalties. ). I mean any coach who wants to win will choose the better goalkeeper for the penalties, and then hope. Whether a team with such history needs this kind of coach, that seemingly looks to be progressing, and has not won any silverware would certainly split opinions, i mean what's the roof of your progress? Or when does progress stagnate? And i would think a slight regression after winning a couple of trophies can be overlooked, Are you content with being top 3 and reaching at least the quarterfinals of the champions league every year? Are you sure you want to draw the ire of these crazy fans that cannot sleep because the last time they won the league, which seemed to be their birthright, was in 2013? . Certainly not so easy a decision to make. But these kinds of opinions on the issue of whether we have the same quality as others are rather insincere, and I can't help but think these people cannot help themselves with the fact that Ole is still the manager 3 years and counting. Very painful. . All in all he better win the Premier league, for the sake of some semblance of peace here. Our brothers seem to be very innovative in their creation of agendas. That is not the point. i was tackling your claim that McTominay who plays mainly as a CM and box 2 box player and has limited ability to recycle the ball is a better DM than Rodri.
Rodri might not be the 2nd coming of Makalele but we have only one DM in our team and his name is not McTominay.

Not all team play with a standard DM, who is the DM in Liverpool team.
