Educationalserv: There is absolutely nothing wrong with the black market. It is strong in Nigeria because 60% of the economy is informal. So, the black market is simply an informal way to trade forex. The real problem is the blatant mismanagement of foreign exchange by Buhari and the submissive CBN governor who allowed the president dictate to him. It's a tragedy. 1 Like |

grandstar: Nothing nice about it,it is rude and insulting to the country, and her people How information around an economy is managed is very important. Money is a key element in a countrys soverignty. They (aboki) made themselves the official voice (another way to see it is official representative) of a bussiness unit that had been deemed illegal in the country ,basically they are giving authenticity to an illegal activity against the directives of the country and that's their response," global bodies rely on us", "temporary stop to said activity"...and "hope the Naira appreciates" .I repeat the firm and their spokesperson are irresponsible, and their press release is offensive... Hope you get now why it's not funny 5 Likes |

I thought a lot of calculation goes into getting the dollar to Naira rate. I didn’t know one aboki just sat down in London all this while speculating rates like it’s nothing. If not for nepotism probably AbokiFx for no get that kind power. 2 Likes |

How did we get here? Every single policy this clueless CBN have made has had zero effect on improving the economy. Nigeria has slowly drifted back to almost a military regime under Buhari. CBN better ban the internet and ensure phone calls to abokis are also banned so they can hide their folly. When they makes their stupid policies and the dollar rate drops, they dont remember to ban abokifx. Some weeks ago when they banned some BCDs and the rates started to go down, they were quick to announce they had found the solution to world hunger. But now that the Naria adds N2 daily to the rates showing their clueless-ness, they are quick to ban information. Basic economics of demand and supply they dont know. If they were wise, engaging with and befriending the likes of abokifx to publish reduced rates would have been the better option. But no, they are like their master in aso rock, force with no wisdom. How long does it take for a web site to pop up on the internet?. kai who did this to us. Even I can publish rates daily to get renewed traffic now that abokifx wont be the central convergent point any longer. In 2 weeks time, they should ban the internet, then ban Nigerians in disapora from checking internet for rates also. rubbish! 3 Likes |

Sincerely, most Nigerians want the rates to go down, why not, we are all suffering from this spikes. Even the purchasing power of those that remit from diaspora has dropped, is it the cost of building materials or services you want to speak on. All have increased in recent times. ever since this CBN decided to ban crypto trading, which was reducing the pressure on the Naira, they lost the good will of many Nigerians. So unless the cost of a barrel of crude suddenly jumps and output goes back to pre COVID times there is naturally no way the Naira can appreciate. The current CBN leadership is so eager to please their master so they ve thrown all knowledge of running an economy to the winds. hosemujica: 2 Likes |

Armstrong34: I hate this govt but whatever they are doing now is to bring down the rates that keeps rising from manipulations. You depend on abokifx to buy from the street and the same abokifx tells you they get their rates from the street. You don't see there's something happening in between? If you ask most exchangers on the street how they arrive at their rates, they will point you to abokifx. Abokifx can wake up and add N5 then tell you it was gotten from the street, the exchangers wake up then peg their rates around what they see on abokifx as the current rate...... You still don't see manipulations? Tell me any country where you have official exchange rate of a currency then street rate..... Only in Nigeria because of the lack of proper regulation on BDC and online urchins like abokifx. The govt itself are among this nonsense but then whatever will bring down the rate is welcomed. 3 Likes |

Kingpele: You are very ignorant of the information you claim you know. What determine the strength and appreciation of the naira and any economy currency is the level of positive economic indices. Like employment and general output. Boko haram is destroying the contribution to northern nigeria input in agriculture for years now, there is nothing nigeria is exporting all this affect the value of the naira. Mere publishing the exchange rate fake or real will not affect any country positive or negatively. The same way the Nigeria govt claim they banned bitcoin as source of financing end ESARS is what they just did here. 1 Like |
