Healhtyliving: When I was renting i rented only new build and love the newness however when I bought i bought old build and refurbished it giving it the old and new feel ( side effect of watching house under the harmer).... living in it now, I prefer old build. I think they are warmer or maybe it mine. Definitely more spacious as most new build , the rooms are smaller, the gardens are smaller etc and it feels way stronger. Even when we were breaking some walls down u can see it was well built. The house was built 1950 However to do up a house. That I won't do again. Its way more stressful than it looks on television and it can cost a lot ... so I only buy an old build that is ready ready . ..in the end it all to personal preference or the one that you can find that gives you good value for money ... I didn't set out to buy new or old, my budget was driving what I saw , just that when I saw this house I knew it was the one. 10 Likes |

Healhtyliving: The money UK charges for visa and ihs is just too much. This new social healthcare visa people won't have a clue how much cheaper and easier it is for them. ... Just calculate how much a family of 4 or 5 have paid at the end of the journey. It just too much and exploitation... 3 Likes |

Healhtyliving: Biko jump and pass that property......... Not unless you have a budget, to move the toilet and bathroom........... Imagine relaxing on the bog, doing a number 2 ........ Madam is in the kitchen, preparing a very delicious meal......... Either the meal or the bog, would not constitute a healhtyliving.......... 11 Likes 1 Share |

Lexusgs430: Like Ticha already said, it’s not always the case that the house appreciates in value. Some people that bought just before the 2008 housing crash have been in negative equity and are just beginning to emerge out of the deficit. For such people, it will probably be cheaper to rent than to pay the mortgage. They are referred to as mortgage prisoners and some of them are not able to switch to cheaper deals due to stricter lending rules after 2008. In summary, people shouldn’t be in a hurry to get mortgages. Check affordability and ensure that you have enough money to cover your mortgage should things change tomorrow. 1 Like |

Ticha:It's refreshing to know that there's really no right/wrong time to enter the market. Na to just follow the trend and buy when one can afford it. How is rent money nto dead money? Even if you have your own tenanted property, you're basically breaking even using your profit to pay someone else's mortgage. Or am is there something I'm missing? |

Lexusgs430:As in ehn! I literally jump and pass those properties..... But why old built UK houses have gardens x2/3 the size of the house? If you the garden of some houses ehn e reach to build Buckingham palace |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Bluetherapy: 2:24pm On Mar 08, 2022 |
Peerielass:Understood. Is there a logical reason for 50k increase in house price with 1 year of purchasing the property? But then, is there any safe thing to do? Buy property now and then market crashes again. Don't buy and the property prices keep increasing. I'm of the opinion that either way, renting is not the way forward. |

ybahrbz91: If you have time, Pay through Form A if you can, open a Revolut, Stirling or Monzo account. Select the Maintenace/upkeep section and credit your UK account and then do the transfer to the landlord Or use Lemonade/OhentPay/Barter by Flutterwave to credit the landlord’s account at black market rate. Here’s the link for Form A , select educational service and at the drop down. It’ll give you various options, select maintenance and upkeep. Have all the required documents ready. https://www.tradesystem.gov.ng/index.html Best of Luck 3 Likes |

Speak to your employer or GP. If you're looking at a job with the NHS, you'll be scheduled for an appointment (to review your history and give imms as required) with OH so you don't need to sweat it. Uzonma: |

It defers from employer to employer, like my employer have a form on the intranet that you complete and they send the immunisation record to your preferred email within 24hours Uzonma: |
