I just want to urge our upcoming parents, new couples and singles hoping to get married someday and give birth to please practice a good child spacing of atleast 2-4years age gap, it has a lot of benefits and also give you time to take care of the child properly and also allowing the mothers body rest and become stronger in preparation for another child Thanks for reading! [/quote] Abeg allow people live their life the way they want to... There are many circumstances that can warrant such, imagine a person who tried to conceive for years and last last God answer her, and after 7 Month or 1 year another belle enter , make she abort abi?....it's their body you have no right over what happens there...periodt. |

The era of good spacing is over, please. Unless you marry in your early 20s (21-24 years), I would not advise any woman to practice any spacing. For someone who's just getting married at 33 or 35, this advice may cost you a lot of money and get you depressed. Our mothers got married early so it was reasonable for them to adopt spacing. With excessive use of pills and late marriage in this dispensation, it will be very irresponsible for anyone to deliberately waste his or her time. 1 Like |

I have just a year gap between my boys and we are fine. The message isn't about spacing but your family planning. |

There are multiple factors that contribute to this; Education, poverty, access to contraceptives, awareness, family background, joblessness, and other factors. Some, you can't help and some can be alleviated. |

As in the thing tire me, there's this lady in our church who married thesame year with us she had five children it took mockery from church members during her fifth child dedication that made her to go for family planning, no spacing, my first child is nine plus, the second six plus and my last child just clocked three years and we had locked up, if not that family planning failed me it would have been just my two girls, but I have no regrets though cos the third child came as a boy. |

Karleb: Yes, I am a govt worker. Before my retirement, all my kids must have a Masters degree already and be gainfully employed. I don't want to be using pension to pay for Jamb and WAEC. So, 2 years is good spacing for me. I am done with child bearing, na you remain. |

Idaytesj29: I don’t know what is wrong with you government workers and the "I don't want to use my pension to pay my children school fees". My mother works for the government and uses that same line whenever number of children and spacing comes up. For what it's worth, my dad is a retiree and he makes more now than when he was in service. If not for inflation, he suppose dey enjoy now. 2 years is very bad. That's 3 kids in 6 years. The minimum should be 4 years. |
Re: Most Nigerian Parents And Their Poor Child Spacing! A Must Read!!! by Idaytesj29(m): 9:49pm On Jun 23, 2022 |
Karleb: So, with the inflation and the peanut your Dad is collecting, you want him to still be feeding children and paying fees? Even what you think he is making that makes him better than when he was employed will have no impact if he has mouths to feed. Or using Grey hair to drive children to kindergarten. 4 years for you. I have no problem with your personal life formula. I don't understand your problem with what works for me or other people. Life has no absolute formulae. Wait till you get to this level and come and tell us about you four years spacing. Let's assume your would be spouse, your mum or inlaws will let you or not pressure your wife if she agrees to that. Always try to understand from other angles. Intelligence is not one way traffic. And I plan to keep this to myself, but let me say it so that you will know that even your theory may not work for you or everyone else. My own spouse had a not too common condition where a woman start menstruation early and expect menopause early too. For that reason, it works for us as a family. We are not asking you to adopt 2 years. Do what's good for you, or what nature allows you in some cases. Talk is cheap, marry first and come back. Peace |

Idaytesj29: My dad served the government for approximately 35 years and he makes more than when he was in service now and you still call that peanuts? People who have 6 kids in 5 years will still present a sensible excuse anyways. Nigerians can never change. |
