Hi for people that applied for citizenship during and after covid.

Which is better online application or paper application.

Please share how long yours took if you can. Thank you

The portal has been temporarily down for online application. You can only apply by paper.

Not sure if my response is coming too late but yes I did apply very recently and it was successful. (Through the Norwegian Embassy)

Thanks. I also applied through the German consulate in Toronto as I’m headed to Germany and I got my visa today. Cheers

The paper application is currently faster. I applied online about 4 months ago and they haven't even started reviewing my application, no AOR. A friend who applied online in March just got invited to write the test after 8 months. Meanwhile, someone else who applied about the same time via paper has done oath-taking.

It's not the mode of application that determines the speed, it's the office your application is sent to.

No,all citizenship appplication are sent to Case Processing Centre in Sydney ,where it first acess and if you documentation is ok then it redistrubted to regional office based on ur postal code where you live but currently paper application are proccessed faster than online application.

Hello Everyone,

Please I need help .. I have been having sleepless nights… planning my move to Canada is overwhelming! From finding accommodations to jobs …

I will be landing Canada with my family in January and I would love to apply for visit visa for my parent around late January to be of help with our new born.

My problem now is considering we don’t have jobs yet just our POF/ Savings can we act as sponsors?
1) How much Cad do we have to come with or show to make the application successful?

2) can my sibling in Nigeria act as sponsor for my parent to come and visit me in Canada? Ps: my parent is a civil servant so no much funds.
Should my sibling transfer funds to my parents account as gift deed? Or provide his bank statement?

3) I would sincerely appreciate it if I can be added to any post ppr group or Alberta group as we will be landing / living there.

4) please do reach out if you’ve invited your parents .

Thank you very much for responding.

Whatever you do, please ensure your school is a designated learning institute else you will be back home as soon as you finish your studies.

Take it one step at a time. Land, get jobs and then you can invite your parents.

Trust me, most people don't know that POF goes down so fast because they don't expect the kind of costs they meet when they eventually land.

Some people just want to come in. I had issues convincing sb, finally I failed and he is coming in for a non-DLI school and course. I don't know what is gonna happen.

land first. You are already finding it hard to get accommodation. Imagine adding one more person to the total occupants. Makes the search for accommodation harder. The processing time these days is over 7 months to 1 year for most people . So no put hope for that application one. You will survive before they come anyways

Your statement is contradictory.

If all files get to Sydney and are redistributed based on post code, don't you think places with a high population will be slower irrespective of mode of application?

Anyway applications are not processed based on post code. My application was processed 8 hours away from where I stay. Infact, they were at least 3 IRCC offices closer to my house than the office that processed my application.
The judge for my ceremony was from a different province.

If an office has 10 people working on citizenship files, that office would be faster than an office with just 3 people.
