3. Seize the day, change is inevitable. Take the example of extra CRS points from French which was increased in Oct 2020 from 30 to 50. We fought and argued here. Some people thought those who were learning French or could speak it were hyping the change and gloating over those who couldn't. Meanwhile, someone who stared DIY French in Oct 2020 would probably be at B2 level now and have the opportunity to get PNPs for second language skills. If truly NOC related draws are the way forward, then one option (in addtion to doing everything in one's power to max CRS) is to begin to investigate which NOCs are in demand and work towards getting a job in those areas....at least in a year's time you would have done 12 months and be able to list it as your primary NOC. I'm not suggesting it's a quick or easy thing to do, but it's something. If it turns out that the NOC thing doesn't materialise, you're still ok because you've embedded yourself in an NOC that may mean you get a job faster when you land.

Stay hopeful, pray that the odds will favour you more often than not, but please do the needful.

Peace!

Just to encourage someone - even with the new category based draws (that will likely continue alongside all program draws) you can still get into an NOC that is on the category based target list by finding a job now in that NOC and getting at least 6 months WE (inside or outside Canada).

Looks like IRCC need only 6 months continuous WE in the target NOCs. Let's see what the draws bring.

Starting to learn French is another option...anyone who began when the C19 was announced a year ago would have gone quite far.

Hello,

I hope you landed safely and doing well.
Thank you for your help so far. I intend to arrive in Canada next month and I'll like to know how you bought CAD before landing. Thank you very much 🙏🏽

Yes, I landed safely and I’m adjusting well. My husband got $2k from his bank (FCMB) through the PTA route. We supplemented this by buying CAD from the black market. My brother helped me with this one but I can ask him what the black market process is. We also still had quite a lot of NGN when we landed and will be looking to convert this soon. Have you tried PTA?

Thank you for your response. I can't go the PTA route because of the return ticket policy. I won't mind to know about the CAD black market process, please. Thank you again 🙏🏽

if I max out my belts, my score will only be at 481. currently at 478 but ielts has expired so I have withdrawn my profile. and booked for a new test and really hoping to max out. however, I need help with what else I can do to get my score up to 490. I really need ITA. tired of being in the pool for 2 years now. I am not sure I can learn French within a few months considering all I'm dealing with

Had score of 478, IELTS expired in November, I took another same month, maxed it and moved up to 481. Got ITA with that in March. From my experience, the only way to improve in 481 at this point is French, as I’m assuming you have no sibling in Canada like me.

Dear all,

I am currently in Nigeria with the kids while my spouse is in the UK for masters. when we receive PPR, can we submit the passports separately? This implies that I submit at Abuja VAC where Biometric is planned and my spouse submits at the London VAC where his biometric is planned. is this even possible/allowed? What other options are available please?

Just to confirm the appropriate one, did you later go with the database analyst NOC or the Data Scientist NOC.

Hello,

Please what is the fate of someone with a CRS score of 480? I honestly don't know what to think anymore.

Nurse aides/Healthcare aide

Adunnishugar:
Please do healthcare and support workers stand a chance with this category based draw?
I saw “other assisting occupations in support of health services”
Does this include care workers/ support workers?

Don't worry much. It probably will be or go below 480 in the next draw.

Hello House, my express entry profile expired and also my international passport has also expired but I already got a new Passport.

Can I open a new GCKEY with the new passport? Does it have any effect?
Or do I have to create a new profile under the old GCKEY?

Good day my ppl. Pls we are about to create an EE profile with my husband bn d primary applicant.

My intl. Passport is in process and I have not evaluated my credentials under WES like my husband has done all.
I would like to know, If my passport info would be required along side my husband and kids while filling the EE profile.

Secondly, as a graduate (without WES evaluation) does that mean we would fill in no education for me.

No your passport details will not be required alongside your husband. However, you guys will not be able to claim points for your education since you don't have WES
