Congratulations! When was her biometrics?
And was it standard or priority?
Also, she can decide to spend any number of days or months she likes but must not be more than 6 months to avoid overstaying.
Lawunmi11:

Thank you so much @segun889. My mum picked up her 6 months visa today. I stated in her application that she’ll be spending 10 days during her visit, is it okay if she decides to spend 3weeks instead?

Thank you

Might be too short but ask if the school can do this or if there's another proof they can share with you for your interview: a receipt, an official letter on the school letterhead than can be attached to your CAS.

Most Importantly, make the payment ASAP and start chasing for additional proof/supporting documents for this.

I thought the earliest you can apply for a UK visit Visa is 3 months before the travel.

January is not the ideal time. It should be March.

Cashmadam:

You can start from January 2024.

They will give you what you applied for - if approved.

As a first timer, safer to apply for six months. You can get 2 years as a first timer but it's a risk so decide if you are ready to take that risk.

Congratulations. She can spend however long she decides but not exceeding 6months. So to answer your question directly- Yes it is okay.

Good morning,

I was refused UK visa in 2013,but currently have 2 expired US visas, 5 expired schengen visas, 1 current 5year US visa, 1 current 4years Canadian visa. Is it safe to apply for two years? Since it would be my first UK issued visa.

Yes sir

Thanks for your response, so rather than applying for 6months I should just go ahead and apply for 2years. Do you have any instance where the person was given 2years as first visa issuance?. I'm sorry for the questions I just want to be double sure,so my money doesn't go to waste.

Good day people,

I have been to UK only once last year on 6 months visa, and i plan to apply for 5 years under same circumstance. A friend of mine who also visited once last year, applied for 10 years straight and was granted.

I read somewhere here that someone applied for 10 years and was given 6 months. I am afraid that i could apply for 5 years with this current exchange rate and be given less than that.

Any ideas ?

Hello all,

I am a medical student in Nigeria and I want to apply for a UK visit visa to attend a conference and do a one week Clinical electives. I have about £1000 in savings and I have the option of getting my parents to sponsor.

This is my first time and I am worried of rejection on financial grounds.
I plan to stay for about 20 days.

I would appreciate and help and clarification.
Thank you.

My passport got delivered to me today and my application for a 6 month visa was approved.

I submitted
A letter from my school stating the reason for my visit and that I would return.

A letter from the hospital I was going to do my electives.
A letter of invitation to attend the conference
An accommodation booking from Booking.com
Proof of relationship with my mom:
- Her voters ID
- my birth certificate
- pictures of us together

Proof of funds:
- one year account statement from Risevest and the award letter for the scholarship £1000

Proof of sponsorship
- a letter from my mom attached to 6 month’s statement of account.

A cover letter.

You can go ahead and apply for 2 years. You have a better chance at it. I'm not sure anyone can give you an absolute guarantee but rather on the balance of probability.
NB: You still have to demonstrate your personal circumstance is admissible (ie. finances and home-times) irrespective of the other pre-existing visas (even though they give you an advantage). Hope this information helps.

Firstly, you need to decide if its General nursing you are thinking about or mental health nursing. Since you have a first degree, mental health nursing might be an easier choice as you do not have a prior knowledge in sciences. I will advice Masters in mental health nursing although i'm aware it is becoming very competitive due the number of applicants. Hope this information helps. You can get more information online and from schools offering the programs.

Yes, it is. If you have enough money in your account and package your application well, you should be able to get any visa be it 2, 5, or 10 years with this your travel history.

Make sure you include copies of all your previous visas from the A-list countries. Also, write a statement about the UK visa refusal and attach a copy of the refusal letter if you still have it.

Hello Gurus in the house.
I went for my document submission and biometric two days ago (Tuesday) and this email came in today.
I applied for a visiting visa of 11 days. I hope the whole process

You will need to contact individual schools for their admission process and deadlines. You can find this information on their websites as well. I think there may be some bursary for nursing students but i'm not sure if it's limited to citizens or for everyone. Get more information on respective university's website.

Hi.If it is your first Uk “issued” visa, ild say apply for 6months as the first one was refused and other countries you have been to do not count.

That is quite a vague question as you have not said the sort of event nor how long you intend to stay as that determines the budget for your account. For time frame if you not paying for priority and going standard i would say Jan/Feb.
