The nature of the manufacturing we wanted to do, the machines consume lots of energy and only 3 phase can carry them, and we involved an alternative energy firm to give us cost, the cost alone was more than 400million, if you add that to cost of machines, raw materials, factory house and staff quarters, it was going to 1billion plus, and our financial power never reach that level na, so we quit cheesy

That's what you would have said in the comment I quoted...

Yorubas are too slow and dull in accepting positive changes. Imagine a local government that is only few kilometers from Lagos being so backward. Some places in SW appear even more remote and underdeveloped than places in NE.

Missionaries came to their place before other parts of Nigeria. Awolowo also gave them free education yet Igbos overtook them in one fantastic burst of energy!

If Lagos was close to Igboland the way it is close to Yorubaland, I bet you, no ethnicity in Africa would have come close.

In other words you wish Lagos belongs to igbos. grin
This explains the lagos-no-mans-land thing. Isn't it?

We came to Lagos to do business, it does not mean that we go back to trees when we say we are going to the village.

You can now show us your family-house in the village.
And your own personal room in the village too

Why not just bring business to your village?
Did you visit your village during the last Xmas?

When was the last time you visited your magnificent village?
What are your plans for your kids in your incredible village?
How many hospitals do your have there?

Any schools?
Just don’t show us 2 locations, shows us more, what about the full road trip entrance from Lagos to this your awesome village?

How many days do you spend in Lagos per year.
Do you guys do business on Monday in your village?
How many people got killed this year in your beautiful village?

With all the greed, and insensibleness, I wonder why igbos continues to represent the weakest link in the country; a pig will forever be a pig.

There is a functioning port in Onne. Stop complaining and move your cargo there. If you are tired of Lagos, leave!
But we cannot dispute the fact that Igbos are. more venturesome when it comes to businesses that other tribes in this country. They are hardworking, industrious and dedicated. They practically dedicate their lives to their businesses and grow it.
I respect them for that. I work with them a lot in the Pharmaceuticals sector.

I'm not someone that take tribal sentiment on my head, I'm just saying the truth.

Only Ibadan is bigger than the whole of Abia state, Oyo state and Southeast are on par in term of land mass - Go and verify😁

This means there is no much land to go round. You systematically buys Front lanes of cities not because you're richer than your host, but because your host majorly don't like business and will prefer to sell a land of 1M for 15m and go and start life somewhere else. Ultimately, you people becomes Yoruba along the way.

The green/purple/yellow roofs you people have are because they are newly built houses and they are due to two reasons.

1. You people are ready to share property immediately your parent die

2. There are not many land to go round

You people know business 🤝 but that doesn't mean your host are not successful, if they don't have the purchasing power you would not be here. How many USA company is in Nigeria?

A Yoruba lecturer with 400k in a month is content but a Igbo counterpart will look into business and will be financially better than the first but that doesn't the first is not content with what he have.

Bros they don't know business they know trading which actually they learned from the Ijebus, the Ijeshas and the Igbominas. The missing link in the last century was that this major three Yoruba dialects didn't include apprenticeship else the igbos will not be boasting of being business oriented today. It was the civil war that push many of them into apprenticeship which today they call business which is actually trading.
How many of them are actually into world class manufacturing, very few and to that all they are doing as regards trading every tribes in Nigeria have selected population who love trading too.

The main issue is that we don't take statistics seriously in our country

Don't say you came to Lagos to do business instead say you came to Lagos to trade as in hustle. It was a Japa plan not a business tourism thing, if you actually came to Lagos to do business you won't bother to build house in Lagos and thereby turn to developers grin

I’m very proud to display some of the pictures of my village in Jos Plateau, Nigeria.
But now that I spend majority of my time in Lagos, I will never forget the uncompromising love that is consistently given to me and my family by the great people of Lagos
Furthermore, I’m very grateful for the opportunity to operate various businesses in Lagos; I’m extremely humble to live and serve Lagosians..
From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate everything…. YOU GUYS ROCK!
