Buy a new phone. That's your best option...transfer the SIM and retrieve WhatsApp.

Whenever you get to another country you can always check for those who repair Infinix.

America has very limited support for phone asides from Apple and Samsung brands

Oh, I have multiple phones but the issue is the SIM card doesn’t work with the phones I bought here. So my WhatsApp can’t be transferred to another phone because my SIM card is not active for WhatsApp to send a verification code.

That’s far o , am I not better off just sending to Nigeria and paying 3k for the repair 😭. I didn’t want to consider this option before but it feels like I have no choice

Hmm doesn't work because of the size? Eg microSIM vs nanoSIM space? If so you could consider SIM cutters. If you live in a major city you might find some Asian stores that do phone repair and ask them about the SIM.

Else send to Nigeria as someone suggested.
I hope you find a good repairer

They do - as long as its roaming with whichever roaming partner they use. I usually load at least 4000 naira, I keep it active by sending a few texts and I have received calls. Sometimes network bars may drop but typically its fine.
For context this is for Airtel .

Someone suggested roaming but it didn’t work for me.

Please, what do you all think about Virginia. No one has said anything about it here. I am considering moving there to further my studies (nursing). I am currently in Texas.
I won't mind connecting with anyone that's living there or very familiar with the state.

Thanks!

Any reason why you want to leave Texas?

If you read a couple of pages back some posters mentioned places in Virginia.

Good afternoon you all
Please I need your help
I graduated from uni with a 2.2 in Political Science Education. Which school in the US can I apply to(STEM because of OPT)?
I’d really love your feedback as I want to begin the process. God bless

Any approved school that offers STEM courses would be just fine.

If you will take my candid opinion, tell your spouse to return to Nigeria, for you all to apply and go for the Visa interview together.
Why?

Not to discourage you, but my guy studied around Norfolk, Virginia, and didn't say anything positive about that place. Gun violence is somewhat widespread from what he mentioned.

You're better off in the Midwest: New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado and its surroundings

Hola folks in the USA, has anyone applied for a Nigerian passport renewal lately? The links don't appear to be working!
Anyone with helpful information please let me know. Thx

Yes, a friend recently applied and did her biometrics at the DC embassy.

Etisalat does not work in the United States, you can only continue to use the what's app, but can't roam the line.

Like work authorization or PR. They don't employ illegal immigrants in the health sector.

Posting this here, instead of in Ads as I think it may attract the wrong people. I am based here in New York. My husband used to post here in Nairaland regularly, as Imperiouxx or Imperiouxxx. He came to US from Nigeria on Student visa, and then we got married and he is now here through green card.

Here is our situation: We have a child (4 yrs), and we are going to have another child by December. We have been looking for a child care provider but have not been successful. If anyone knows anyone who is based in NY, NY and is looking for some extra work. We have been looking everywhere locally, if you know someone here please let us know.

Are you looking for a child minder as a live in?
Cos at 4 they should be in daycare and some have after school programs so you can pick up after work.

I see childminders daily on my commute. I live in NY.
Have you tried looking for online for sites that provide
Paying for daycare might end up being cheaper
Not sure this thread will help but who knows.

Regards to him. I would think it would also be okay to start looking out for daycare in case you don't get anyone on time.

Imperiouxx the legend, my advise is check the US student visa thread and talk to some students who just moved to NY. But do your due diligence.

Oh! Madam, regards to Imperioux the mentor and motivator that year I started the F1 hustle. Based in Colorado, and can't really link you up with a connection. Hopefully you find a helper.

Hmmm...We have things in common, but the bitter truth is that it's not going to be an easy ride getting a good job here without American work experience. The easiest jobs here I have seen so far are driving and sales rep jobs.

Besides, have you evaluated your degrees to American standards, to at least give you an edge? If not, Try to get that done and keep applying. You can start from those low-paying jobs too while still looking for a better one.

You mean evaluating it using WES?
