500k for family of 4.
By this standard, over 75% of Nigerians are on poor salary.

For a mid-career professional, and you are earning 550k that's good. All you need is to add an additional source of income like a business you can monitor.

In mid-career, you'll probably have a housing project, you'll have kids in primary and secondary school so You can't depend on a single source of income. You will get broke before the month runs out except if you have a partner who is equally earning good

For a mid-career professional, the least salary should be 350,000 net.

400,000 naira outside Lagos.

400,000 naira in Lagos is a paltry salary.

For a family of four like myself, 500k looks good. Below is how I break it down, on monthly basis.

Food and other provisions - 100k
Rent - 30k
Domestic Water - 10k
Drinking Water - 15k
Electricity - 10k
School fees for two kids (after taking average as 1st term is always higher) - 45k
Car Fueling and Maintenance - 75k
Cooking Gas - 9.5k
Contributory, Gift and Charity - 30k
Clothing - 30k
Occasional Outing With Family - 15k
Medicals - 15k
Save for the rainy day - 50k
Online Skills Learning - 10k
Internet and cable subscriptions - 15k

My expenses on monthly basis are to the tune of N429,500

If you think this is too high, just know that every individual cuts their suit according to their size. Moreover, if this appears too little to barely cater for your monthly provisions, I pray one day I match this type of stability and beyond.

Considering the present economic situation and perpetual inflation in this country, a “good” take home salary in my opinion is at least the naira equivalent of $1000.

NB: I strongly advise the Government to start paying our salaries in US Dollars.

In this present economy, 500k is a fair deal for starters but how many private sectors are ready to even pay you that amount?

Messed up country.

Earning in US Dollars is the smartest move ever. Many think it is a complicated process. It is not.

If you can do small stuff like writing, data entry stuff online etc

Remember $1000 is now 1million naira, why don't you improve your skills instead of fighting for a 200k job.

No need for anyone to try contact me as I am not offering any service

The private sector discreetly operate a slavery kind of employment. Some people are paid as low as 30k, I'm talking office secretaries and bsc holders at that. Except you're in tech, if you receive 150k as monthly salary you are getting a good payment.
