Yea@ bold. I was with some farmers last week who were very happy a basin of garri is now sold for almost N12,000. They were pointing out to me how they sold a basin of garri for N2,500 in 2018. How garri business has become so lucrative due to rise in dollar and subsequent rise everywhere else.

Same land, same cassava stem for planting, same planting techniques with adherence to the planting season, yet, in a space of 6yrs, garri price have quadrupled.

Na we dey do ourselves.

Na we dey do ourselves my brother,. It's too much.

$12 meal where? No Nigerian restaurant in the Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC metro which I just came back from sell any Nigerian food less than $23.

This is one in Boston proper. https://www.suyajoint.com/menu
It's a decent place (as far as ambiance is concerned). Go through the menu. And their soup portions are large and stocked with meat. The last time I was there it was so much goat meat I couldn't finish it.

The meal in this pic is not even comparable. Maybe a 1/5th of the soup and some swallow (which is relatively cheap).
No need to over-exaggerate.

I miss 9ja, thing cheap for 9ja no be small, Nigeria remains the only country where things are extremely cheap, but people don't no until they step out.

The point is the place is a proper dinner restaurant. Sometimes it has live artists. Nice china, near downtown Boston. The soup is 5 times what you see in this picture. No one is paying $20 for the meal in this picture.

$1 is equal to 148 Japanese Yen, is Japan a poor country? Use your brain, N1000 have more purchasing value in Nigeria than $1 in the US so the hypothesis of 1 to 1 have no economic value or meaning.

Do u even reason at all bro.

As I said before, no shame, dumb citizens.

Does ₦1000 have a buying power to $1000?

You're comparing a thousand naira to a single dollar and you're saying d naira is better, how?

Bros compare 1$ to 1₦.

What can ₦1 do?

We lie on everything is cost.. it truly is, but not to the point we all resort to extorting ourselves..

At most that meal should not exceed N400.

Same cost of herbicides, same labour cost, same cost of transportation? Those guys are just happy because if it had not been sold
for that price, they wouldn't have choice either, because the cassava will spoil if you don't uproot on time, farmers no longer plant cassava of long life span of 2-3 years anylonger. They won't also call you when the price falls.
