I disagree. We have one of the best attackers in the tournament. Our problem is the midfield. The attackline wasn't getting adequate supply of balls as it should. Also, the continuous pressure on our defence is an indication of an extremely weak midfield that can't break opponent's attacks.
Yes we had the best striker when you judge by club performance but Nigeria scored less than 1.2 goals a match.
Our best department was our defence
Our midfield was not bad but like our attack, it wasn't creative.
But then to be honest, our team was an average team.
With the exception of our striker, non of our boys would start in a top 10 premier league team.
So let's give it to them. They achieved beyond their ability.

Correct, ivory Coast had more goal scoring chances, they also had 75 percent ball poccessiongs. Ivory Coast played very very well.

They deserve the win.

In this kind of game, we needed a player like Mikel Obi and Onasi that would tackle opponents, break their rhythm and spread the ball across. If Iwobi and Oyenka are only good in one department, then going forward, we have to find a replacement for them. We need a complete player in the midfield. A decent midfielder should be able to win balls, dribble, break attacks, and give excellent passes.

Iwobi and Chukwueze should never play for the super eagle again...possibly Aina too

Our midfield was incredibly bad. -None of them was creative. Strikers are only as good as the supply of balls.

It appeared they did well because we played poorly. We were just sitting back and putting too much pressure on our defence line.

Overall, we got the tactics wrong. We shouldn't be defending against a team like Ivory Coast. Instead, we should be attacking them.

The midfield worked very well with our defence. Together, they gave us the best defence of the tornament. But yes, they were not creative, neither was our attack.

FG people are just doing cruise normally.

So typical of them. They're still owing people pension and gratuities, making some of them lives to be unbearable.

Such pathetic situation.

I understand you bro
Hoever, international football is not like club football.

You get what you get.

Coaches in international football need to show tactical flexibility to win games using what they have.

We have what is required to play a four four two formation today

With Zaidu, Oyenka and the another midfielder and with iwobi playing slightly forward in the space between opposition defenders and midfielders where he is more dangerous.

Wow, your laughter is truly contagious! Laughter lightens the mood and can create unexpected connections. I once read a book where there was a lady who laughed all the time, and people adored her for it. The author paid great attention when describing her laughter; you could almost see her laughing. She was my favorite character in the book.

Please what's outstanding about him apart from the alleged prudence. How has Anambra fared after he left the governorship seat? Be realistic and not delusional ☹️
Good question bro. I am in my 40s . I knew when he started campaign to be governor in my final year and graduation. Anambra was a hopeless state then. A state with so much potential but was rated thirty something in all indices and was ranking the same level with birni kebbi and all those northern state. When Obi came out I hated him ( and a lot of anambra people did too) more than any politician in Nigeria first reason was the love we had for Ngige ( due to his honest leadership in that 34 months as governor) was unmatchable even up till today so overthrowing Ngige through court was too much of a pain to us. Secondly his voice was hated by a lot of people because people wondered why he sounded that way and mocked him. Thirdly and the worst was he was always talking about saving government money. Then people believed government money is limitless due to Abacha saga then and that anybody trying to save it is an enemy of the people. Lastly a lot of people from past experiences in anambra never trusted any politicians and believed all the things he was saying were all lies, he said he built almost 80% of the roads in the villages but nobody believed him because he hardly commissions any project he builds, so as in customary anambra people travel him a lot for Christmas. In December 2009 a lot of people that never had roads in their communities saw there were roads then so they turned against us pro ngige supporters with what they saw and he won all the villages in anambra in 2010 elections for his second term while ngige won the cities . I started liking him in 2013 close to end of his tenure when a friend of mine a popular musician and an ardent Obi supporter then took me on a tour throughout the whole state for two weeks. He built( not repaired) roads and bridges that connected the 176 communities in anambra . He won the millennium development goals award multiple time for being the best governor based on all the indices outlined by MDG for measuring growth in Africa.Anambra was the safest state in Nigeria in his last five years. Anambra before him used classrooms as local government headquarters, go there today as see the kind of structures he built in the 21 local government headquarters. Took anambra from number 30 to number 1 in education.Teaching hospitals nko , agric nko, renovations of all healthcare facilities nko? Orient refinery nko?He was the only governor in Nigeria that did all he did without borrowing a dime from anybody, left anambra totally debt free and never owed any civil servant , was never invited by EFCC when he left office. If he were president He would have channeled the money from subsidy and savings from running a lean government to farmers and lowered food prices and created jobs too because if youths see the crazy billions he is spending directly on farmers instead of the norm on politicians every youth would want to become a farmer instead of a content creator. He would have flushed out bandits and herdsmen about 4 months ago, empowered small businesses to boos economy of Nigeria, used taxes from there to start paying back Nigeria’s 87 trillion naira debt, end destruction of illegal refineries in Niger delta and instead encourage more Nigerians with funding to construct more mini modular refineries even if 500 liters per day with the aim of crashing fuel price. Implementation of the 4 year blueprint for steady electricity he went and copies from Egypt…Nigeria would have come alive under Peter Obi

cheesy grin This your comment though. The coach tactics failed him. We got away with vs South Africa. But couldn't against a team who beat us at our game.

This Peisero man knows no other way of playing football than continuous long balls to a lone striker, Osimhen.
I will no longer watch SE matches so long this man is the coach.

Instead of picking players to blame, we should blame the coach. We played too deep right from the start of the match. At the beginning of the second half, we should have come out to play for the first 20 minutes before playing deep since we were leading. It was inevitable that they would score looking at the pressure and home support. Overall, the boys tried their best. All of them. We should appreciate their effort.

Chukwueze only had a bad day. Same as Aina. In fact, Aina has done wonderful well at the back in this tournament (except for a few mistakes here and there and a penalty loss). Invariably, these two can still be useful to us in the nearest future.

Though I agree that Iwobi should just go and rest like Ahmed Musa. Well, except we find a complete midfielder to pair him with and who will do all the dirty jobs for him in the midfield.
