Sir, paper experience is different from practical experience.

For the board to vote her as replacement, they know her competence and what she has to offer.

I prefer on hand experience to academic accumulation of degrees.

Very correct 👌

There's ooo. My cousin lost her marriage of over 15 years due to her career as a professional banker. Being a career woman really prevents a mother/wife from discharging her marital duties and responsibilities as a result of the perennial conflict of interest between her home and office.

I hope she maintains the unique tone set by the former CEO.

There's something about unmarried women taking up leadership positions. If you know you know.

NOTE: In standard English, Ms. can be used for a married woman as initials especially if you don't know whether she is married or NOT.

Ms. is also used for an older adult woman of late 20s, 30s and above who is unmarried (NOT the use of Miss).

Second, Miss is used for ONLY a young, unmarried woman in her teenage years right to the early 20s.

Last but not least, folks should each invest in getting copies of the "Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary" to get a rapid hang of the usage of gender titles, salutations, phonetic pronunciations, and more.

Agreed, I may have wrongly interpreted miss to be abbreviated as Ms.

However the context of the post was her unmarried status which both appellation represents and which is still germane to the discuss.

Why career women are single either from divorce or failure to tie the nuptial knot?

Don't mind the poster

Both Roosevelt and Bolaji are foundational staff of Access Bank(A Regional Bank, back then). I think they came from GTB along with Aig and Herbert. Bolaji was heading HR as far back as 2003 @ Oyinjolayemi. Both Roosevelt and Bolaji have paid their dues. But I think Roosevelt had cut his teeth well in Finance..... Oil and Gas.

But the poster below thinks otherwise. What's your say about this?

goaldynboy:

Roosevelt Ogbonna was holding a higher position than this woman;

Roosevelt Ogbonna has more qualification, more experienced and have been in Access Bank before this woman!

Roosevelt Ogbonna is the one to succeed Wigwe, if Wigwe was to retire alive, but he has been rigged out!

This woman has used politics and her HIDEOUS relationship with the Chairman of the bank to grab a position she is not qualified to handle!

I only pity Access Bank future!!

His tenure as MD/CEO was over.

When Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was the CBN governor, he created a rule that bank MDs/CEOs will occupy their position for a maximum of 10 years.

After 10 years, they retire.

The late Herbert took over from Aigboje in 2014. He was already preparing for retirement but death came calling.

It was in January 2014 that Herbert Wigwe assumed duty as the group managing director & chief executive after the retirement of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede late 2013. The change in the executive suite was smooth and rancor-free, unlike what we see in some other places.

You have started saying what you used to say to the Hausa-Fulani to Yoruba again.

If you notice most banks in Nigeria are been controlled by Northerners and Yorubas. Access bank is a south South Bank just like Zenith bank.
They should have find someone competent from that region. Is just like removing the CEO of Wema bank which is a South west bank and putting an Igbo man which is IMPOSSIBLE.....

Honestly, this is so sad !!

That's not how banking works. She was the former ED. Banking and finance is not tribalism. People money is at stake.
