GT Bank seems to have released the modality for doing that but it hardly works. The website after filling my details won't even send me an OTP in order to continue with the process.

I did it, it's easy, follow the steps in the picture. First generate Virtual Nin, then go to gtbank dot com, u will see the steps. When done log in to ur online banking u will it

There was a time we were all asked to link our BVNs in 2014. Though I spend most of my accounts more than 20yrs ago, but each time I need to update information on my account, my proof of current address, BVN and NIN are always requested. Do you mean some people don't see anything to update on their accounts after using it for many years?

what I am saying is that the request for update of nin is a new one unlike the BVN which we all did some year back. So only people who opened account newly will have their nin immediately.

Why will people waste their time go to banks for what they can easily do online at their convenient time?

5 mins indeed, this day I was even contemplating that banks should close some of their branches and allow staffs to works from home.

I just linked mine via a Link sent by my Bank Stanbic IBTC.
It was fast and easy....
After filling the form... and submitted.Stanbic said Thank you.

Interesting. In Abuja, at any gtbank you will spend nothing less than 2 hours queuing.

Think NIN is the main problem

If you have better cash in your account or your account have pull use sum before. Your bank will not bombard you with sms. They will only send you just one sms.

Also if the phone number in your account is tied to ur nin. They wouldn’t bombard you.

Gross inefficiency on the part of our banks

I did GTBANK this week on tuesday, by generating the vnin and it worked after submititng the form online. maybe their server is overwhelmed.

I submitted my details (a copy of my NIN and BVN slip) with access bank yesterday. As for GTB, I couldn't go ahead because of the crowd. I will try again next week as I'm not around to do so.

Do you have to link non to every bank?
I thought it is linking non to bvn, just one
