Nigeria is going through a challenging time and OBIDIENTS are happy.

I have never voted in Nigeria but that is going to change with the way OBIDIENTS have been attacking Nigeria, I will vigorously campaign against Peter Obi in any elections he presents himself. You can not be enemy of Nigeria and still want to rule Nigeria.

That Is a promise I have made

Leave dollars, why are people trading naira? You pay 1030 naira to POS agent to get 1000 naira. Isn't that itself devaluing naira?
We have elected the most stupid people among us.

which is also another failure from govt policy.if banks are well monitored by those overseeing them, Them no born them well to leave thier ATMs empty 90% of them. POS currency sellers are just taking advantage of such incompetence.
Just like filling stations hording fuel or under dispensing the correct litre of fuel. Despite paying DPR( whatever is thier name now sef) staff millions of naira yearly in salaries & allowance to checkmate that kind of thing.

Emefiele is many times better than this “patch patch CV” CBN governor. They vilified him for trying to defend the Naira, yet they dipped their hands into our fx reserve just to do the same thing.

I am sure Aldi and Co can save the day, except if they source locally for their goods. The moment you buy anything not made in Nigeria, that more pressure against the Naira

We've been buying things not made in Nigeria before APC.

Buhari borrowed so much with nothing to show for it. Now they are saying debts service gulps 70% of dollar outflow in Q1, they are even depleting our foreign reserve to service debt, this is one major reason the naira is losing value.

Meanwhile, the government has not stopped the borrow FX for frivolities habit. I'm not surprised, Tinubu did say he'll continue from where Buhari stopped.

and when they source locally, the effect of poor epileptic power supply and cost of goods will still make their products expensive after adding their profit margin and we're back to square one. unless they influx te market with low quality food products made chiefly with chemicals and preservatives.

It’s time for humble pie… outdate the old naira notes.

Encourage e-banking on all platforms.

Invite global food retailers (Aldi, Kroger, Carrefour) to open shop in the country, this will help stabilize/reduce demands FX, support food security and create employment. On the downside, It’s will temporarily halt local production but the issues bedeviling local production are multifaceted and cannot be addressed in the short-medium term.

That will still not solve the problems...only dollar supply will sort the problem

Nairaland should stop this nonsense of putting depreciation of the Naira on frontpage.

It goes a long way to cause more harm.

Exactly. We need to go back to the fundamentals - sort out security so people can go back to the farms, improve electricity supply to support local manufacturers, cut the cost of governance and of doing business in the country etc. Addressing some of these basics is enough to draw investors naturally. But if anyone thinks bringing Aldi and the rest to Nigeria in this current state is the answer, I am sorry to say, it's not.

There is only one way to strengthen the naira..nd that is by ordering Nigerian own firms which operate abraod to repatriate at least 10℅ of its forex earning nd maintain acct with that with a Nigerian bank...

The problem is lost of confidence by the international nd local biz community

The supply chain is d problem not necessarily the demand side of the forex
