To check your Mobile phone s serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably would not get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can not use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

I'm greatly embarrassed that this is coming from a carlcare rep. with these your china phones that come with cloned IMEIs? and MTK that changing IMEI is as easy as changing SIM cards again?
In Carlcare's mind now, they've dropped an eye opening tutorial
Imagine the ancient tutorial
You guys should upgrade abeg!

Call all the major GSM operators CC
MTN-181 or 180
ZAIN-111
GLO -121
u can include MTEL & ETISALAT if u like.
During each call, supply the cc representative with the
IMEI number and other details like make & model and
the day it was stolen.
Use ur sense when making the calls, cos they might not
help you if u are rude or if they suspect dat u are not a
member of their network.
When the deed is done, celebrate with 20 naira grass and
feel the pleasure of being wicked

Remember that your partner organizations manufacture the widely acceptable MTK based Droid devices. And l believe you are aware that IMEI nos can be changed within a minute of switching on the Droid device.

Why can't your organisation provide alternative anti-theft/effective measures instead of this outdated system?
