Abuja—A rare insight into the past physical challenge of the coordinating minister of the economy and minister of finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala emerged yesterday when she disclosed that she survived cancer 15 years ago affirming the scare is not the end of life.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

She spoke at the service of songs for the late Oronto Douglas, special adviser to the president on research and documentation that held in Abuja last night.

In her remarks at the occasion, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala said: “Oronto and I had two similarities in life, we both had cancer. I had my last surgery, 15 years ago and I shared my experience with him,” she said, narrating how she repeatedly sought to encourage him using her triumph over the disease.

ThankGod man is not God, and d lord gives mercy and sickness according to our account balances and sizes

very rare to see d poor or moderate man complain of cancer and other diseases meant for d rich

d bigger ur wealth, the bigger ur sickness/disease allocation

Cancer is no respecter of any one. poor, rich, young, old, man, woman. Surviving cancer is draining, tough work and prayers. its relationships with money is relative. Steve jobs died of it and you can't say he didn't have the money to treat it.

A total change of lifestyle especially concerning food is the basic step to fighting it. I watched my mum survive it and it was no easy task. it got to a time she couldnt lift anything with her bare hands because the chemotherapy and radiation she was exposed to. They need support to go through the entire process. its been 8 years after 2 operations and 9months of chemo. Thank God shes alive strong working and she is going to be a grand mum soon.

Watch APC plebs claim she is saying this to evoke pity that will prevent her from going to their imaginary, impossible and non-existent jail.

We sometimes tend to think our own problems are much until we listen to others share theirs.

Ngozi is in no place to motivate anyone.

The effects of her crudeness has caused the deaths of others.

Keep your story to yourself.

Our economy is still suffering from the cancer that you caused.

"You dey laff" that so many people had died, many are dying and more will still die of this ailment and a survivor is giving her testimony at a funeral of someone who died form same illness shows you lack humane, you don't show empathy, and you are wicked, clueless, sttupid, and behave like a cave monkey.

Nonsense and ingredients.

Thank God for your life, ma'am. I pray it will not be our portion in Jesus name. For those who have it, I pray for healing. For the survivors, no coming back by His grace.

As much as I dislike her (and wish that should have been a motivation for her to serve humanity than corporations, friends and self), I wouldn't wish the 'big C' on my worst enemy.

She is already living in prison.

Cancer is 10 times worse than HIV, worse than firing squad and almost any other form of sickness/death.

I understand folks in Nigeria, don't know nothing about cancer.
