The Fifa Women's World Cup starts on Saturday, June 6 in Canada. The opening match will be between hosts Canada and China in Edmonton.
The Super Falcons, drawn in Group D alongside with USA, Sweden and Australia, will play their first game on Monday, June 8.
Due to the difference in time zones, Canada is between six (6) and eight ( hours behind Nigeria, the matches will be played mostly late in the night in Nigeria. The last group game of the super falcons will be played very early in the morning of the next day.

- 65,080- This is the record number of spectators to watch a Falcons game in the World Cup. This was set on June 24, 1999 in Nigeria's 7-1 loss to USA in a group game at the Soldier Field, Chicago.

Nigeria hopes to shock the world

Overview: Nigeria arguably is the best team in Africa, coming off its ninth African Championship and making all seven World Cups. The Super Falcons have had success playing an all-out attacking style and score a lot of goals. It's a bleak outlook in Group D, but this team is confident, and anything is possible if Nigeria can win one of its early games against Sweden or Australia.

Key Players

Desire Oparanozie: Oparanozie might be only 20, but she's one of Nigeria's top scorers. This will be her second World Cup, and she also played in the 2010 and '12 U-20 women's World Cups, plus the '08 U-17 tournament, so she's not lacking experience.

Asisat Oshoala: This will be Oshoala's first World Cup, but she's not low on experience either. She has played in the past U-20 World Cups and won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot Award last summer. The striker, who plays club for Liverpool Ladies, was the first African player to join the FA Women's Super League.

Coach: Edwin Okon, who was appointed the coach of Nigeria after leading the U-20 team to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 World Cup in Japan.
