I first experienced this bump wen I went to the barber's shop without my clipper in 2005 November and on the second day a tiny bump appeared on my neck @ the back of the head, 7yrs later and with a few drugs (Flucamed.... Not so sure of d name) the bumps are everywhere on my neck (pls see picture). I ve done HIV tests 3 times since then (for insurance n job change) and the results are all negative. Do anyone know what this is and how I can treat it? Its been really embarrassing.

A colleague of ma husband also had a similar bump after having a hair cut at a salon, he went to his hospital in lag where he was later referred to a specialist, and dunno what happened, guess it was operated, but now its gone, I will ask him 2moro when I go to dia office

The guy said the hospital is at yaba in lagos, name BIDSON,it's 3 building after the psychiatric hospital. He was given some drugs at the hospital after tests

have similar problem too but met someone who had similar issue and was cured completely who referred me to a guy in ebutte metta and i also got a cream from a guy here on nairaland,both combination of treatment is really working wonders.having difficulty up loading a pix,but u could send me your email or bb pin so that i can send u some pix as a proof.

@yinka my advise. Will be to contact a bumps and keloid specialist.creams alone cant remove bumps permanently,try remove it in time to save urself a whole lot of embarassment.contacting a specialist is not that expensive

Sorry, I'm not active on here. Here's the cure, look for this cream.

this is called acne keloidalis nuchae.

no first line cure but a dermatologist can help. Intralesional triamcinolone acetonide injection and oral or topical antibiotics will go a long way. but see a dermatologist

from ur moniker tot u were a doc, well maybe u are using d wrong cream and drugs. lets see d pics and we move on from dere

@drjekoyemi,the response of ur skin may be slow but that does not mean the bumps can't be removed permanently. Go back to ur specialist and try to follow all the instruction given to u.all the best

I have two good friends with this problem. One of them has a very severe case of Acne keloidalis nuchae and the wound is deep. He had to get a surgery to cure.

My second friend has the problem but it was still only skin deep. He said he applies Sulfur8 ointment on the area for four days to clear it, and that this treatment might need to be repeated whenever the symptoms start again.
