But, you do know, there were times when it felt like mods were being ignored, especially when we try to submit threads to TPTB? Sometimes folks literally had to mention a supermod's name to get attention.
When I make my posts, I'm not usually concerned with gender, in fact I've only ever made 2 threads that have addressed gender. One were I talked about a post I saw on Tumblr about some men's dating habits, with respect to age. The other coincidentally addressing the rise of misogynistic threads. The former got some attention, the latter's only real attention was the mod moved it from Romance to General. In fact, I remember clearly stating in the former thread that it would never reach FP because I didn't stoop to generalisation.

Thank you smiley Keep replying him.
Good thing is, you won't be banned.
ANB, I think you should face Cao and Ishilove squarely and leave standd out of this.

I know why cheesy

babes, you havent answered my question

Guy, I'd already answered your question before you asked it. That post y'all like to keep quoting, already covered that. Plus, you've seen for yourself on how I handle misogyny in my section, you've seen it in one of your own threads. In fact, you even tried to stoke the flames once.

Mods can't push topics to the FP... only Supermods can.

Was I a SuperMod too? cheesy
Anyway, why are you even asking me these questions? Do you remember how many people commented on this thread before? Do you remember the one singled out to take the fall?

So he is your friend so he can't ban you na, but pls don't mention me again cheesy

Why is everyone taking me to be the bad guy?

I am not a mod or supermod.....just one guy trying to see women's rights on nairaland.

Please ooo! no vex! dont be angry with me grin

Good work, then. But you could do more outside your section (I know I'm asking a lot). You too could open certain pro-women threadS?

I didnt stoke anything ooo. Haba. I don't have any beef with you. grin We cool

All we can hope for is that TPTB attempt to do a more balanced job, yes traffic is good, but I'd still like to open NL in public without cringing. There's amazing content on NL & unfortunately no one notices that when they go to our FP. This is a forum, not a blog.

When someone asks you about your rights, what does that imply?
I see. Then I believe your gaze should be directed to the north, because as far I know, women here in the south have the same rights as men, its only in places like northern Nigeria you see women rights being trampled upon.

So your feminism gaze should be focused on northern Nigeria where their religion is just as oppressive and repressive to females like the christian religion (in a way).

I see. A problem of there not being too many "pro-women" threads among the numerous misogynistic threads.

Good work, if what you say is true.

Which leads me to my last question- why didnt you create some pro-women or counter threads (countering misogynist ones from romance section) as a mod?
I will be very honest with you here: I didn't create counter threads for the simple reason that I just don't give a flying fvck about gender issues. grin

From the views I've witnessed on NL & other sites, it appears the gaze should be cast worldwide.

If it felt that way, it is because I hardly visited the TBT thread. It was during the latter end of my tenure that I began to visit there, so it wasn't deliberate. The thread was created before I became a mod so it was kinda easy to forget it existed. Sorry about that cheesy

No it isn't pitiful, sir. My interests as an individual lie elsewhere and gender issues do not feature there. If I had my way all these lists that make it to the frontpage will be scrapped because 90% of them are a load of bollocks, but at the end of the day I mostly avoid them.

The world is what it is.

Broseph, please, you are talking nonsense. Yes the north is worse than the south in Gender equality, however, the south of Nigeria has a myriad of problems when it comes to gender issues!

Do we not see ridiculous restrictions on women's dressing in churches? My cousin from the UK was embarrassed in church because she didnt cover her hair.

Do we not see women being called "slots" (intentional misspell) because they dress sexy?

abegi...dont start

When you are directly affected by the Gender issues, how can you not be bothered about it? An educated woman in Nigeria where your husband can beat you and get away with it (police will claim "its a family matter)...............

Ostrich's head in the sand comes to mind.

Fair enough. Unfortunately, the other alternative doesn't seem to bode well either, I know for a while, I was the only one who used it. I guess, I'll have to re-air my grievances on that matter to TPTB...maybe I'll take a one on one approach, instead of a general one.

I love your last diary update and I have this strong feeling that you wrote about a quarter of the truth in that post tongue

How can I get the truth out of you embarassed

That is the whole truth. I was intially even apprehensive of writing my experience with the Brazilian down because she is literally the most beautiful woman I have ever been with, because she got with me despite a complete lack of English/Portuguese both ways, despite the fact that I'm not particularly good-looking and have crooked teeth, and most importantly because I turned her down.

It's like winning the lottery and still deliberately burning your ticket. When she left my room that morning, I had to give some serious thought to the idea that I could have finally lost my sanity.

Your transition from jackbauersballs to Nihilist is anything BUT an improvement. You became a 21st century neanderthal angry

lol

It was a massive improvement. I stopped getting into e-scraps as much. I restricted myself mostly to the sports section...I stopped antagonising mods...then you became one. grin

By the by, I think I'm by far less abrasive online as I used to be...though most of the old frenemies have largely left the site anyway leaving only a few mumulectuals behind.
