What a living legend. Who thought me very well in Obestriscs and gynecology posting. He was so sound that any labor problem get solved at the his feet. He was so serious with his work that we medical students admire him most. When he was my provost then. Medical school was very fast.I was shocked when I heard this news. We the Resident Doctors in LUTH salute you sir. REST IN PEACE TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

Most of these Nigerian professors spread themselves too thin. One man will be HOD in his school and be teaching in like 2 other schools at the same time and locking up vacancies that young grads could fill.

Most of them fhuck young girls too. That one alone can cause Atrial fibrillation and Dyspnoea sef

RIP sir.

Asin ehhhhhhhh my brother. Illiteracy is the biggest disease. If you look at the life of that poster he is very useful at procreation and will be most useful to Nigerian citizens only at his Funeral.

since cause of death has not being determined, it is too early to detect if there is foul play or not!

I guess because you don't know him

He was a father to many Esp his students He was strict Doesn't condone victimization which is the norm in oau health sciences.
It hurts that pple like that die when the evil ones re still breathing
I tell you! Just like my dear Prof of --------- died suddenly too. He too saved many from the clutches of victimisation.
And the sadists are thriving and growing fat.

We don't know if he had an unmentioned medical condition (especially cardiac), as such mode of death (all other things bein equal) point to a myocardial infarction or second degree heart block
Again at this age, taking that he prolly had been on seat for long, we could suspect that he 'threw an emboli' from venous stasis.
Yes he is a professor of medicine and shouldnt be a culprit of these but we medics are some of the biggest neglecters of our health.

Rest in Peace Uncle.. My dad is still in shock following your death, despite all your good works, the love, the care you showered upon the Ogunniyi's family, Death still stole you away.
If you ask me, you don't deserve to die. Rest in Peace Uncle..

May God comfort the family. But I still think some of these Profs are cheating nature. In spite of the fact that some of them can not accurately give their dates of birth (especially those whose parents were illiterates) while some falsified their age before joining service, they still want to retire at 70. Isn't this one of the main reasons why unemployment is on the rise. A Prof earns the salary of about 4 young PhD holders, teaches and conducts research less, and yet still wants to stay put in a service that he can no longer contribute actively.
ASUU's argument for 70 yrs retirement age was attributed to "Brain drain". In a sane system, a Prof. who at 60 years of age has not replicated himself in that department/research unit should have had his appointment terminated. But because of selfishness on the part of some academics, they insisted on retiring at age 70 and collecting their children and grandchildren's salaries while the younger generation remains jobless.
I pray and hope that this current government will reverse that decision and the retirement age of civil servants generally, if they are really serious about tackling unemployment.

When his son told me he will be going on leave after a tiring exercise that coincidentally ended yesterday, little did I know he had an inkling that he will soon be mourning his beloved dad.

From the testimonies of his former students, now I know where my colleague got his smartness and energy from. A chip off the old block!

RIP Professor Ogunniyi. My condolence to the entire family.

oga was extremely brilliant, both theoretically and operation wise, and was a very good teacher. Was one of the great experts in VVF repair too. He was one the best teachers and doctors at OAUTH then. He was quiet, unassuming and good at his job. He was apolitical and never known for frivolity. May his soul rest in perfect peace and may God almighty give the family especially his wife and children, and others left behind, the fortitude to bear his lost. Adieu sir.
