Should I Go For PGD Or Professional Courses by Holluwatarhyor(m): 1:22pm On Nov 11, 2015
My dear nairalanders,I'm a civil engineer,an HND graduate with distinction in Civil engineering.I finished 7years ago and I work in a construction firm.
The issue now is that I don't know if I should go for professional courses or I should go for PGD.I have the following questions
1)What are the best professional courses one can go for as a civil engineer to support one's certificate?
2)Which school is the best school to go for a PGD in civil engineering and is it true some universities do reject students from some certain polytechnics for PGD?
3)In this era of connection, not minding your qualification,is PGD the first step to take or boost myself first with professional courses
Please I need an advice from those that have sailed through these stages.

I 'll advice u to go for PGD bcause I'm also a civil Engineer HND. I was in NSE office sometime in august inquire about joining d body, they told me to go do PGD dat is related to my field either geology, survey, transports, structure or water. For now focus ur attention on PGD rather than professional courses in order to bridge d so called gap.

Since 7 years ago, you should have done your PGD before now, but i understand that it might be because of finance and some other responsibilities. But, I think now is the right time for you to do it, so as to bridge the gap like my bro also said. You can take up a course like structural design and learn how to use these Finite Element Based softwares to create new and amazing designs. You can choose the course depending on your interest. I don't know which school would be the best for you. You can make further enquiries about that. I wish you success! #Great Engineer!
