Great post! Informative!
However something very important is missing- the Calvinist-Arminian controversy.

However something very important is missing- the Calvinist-Arminian controversy.

I also noted that the Calvinist-Arminian controversy is missing but that can be covered in the excerpts below.

1509-64--John Calvin
A part of the Reformed branch of the Magisterial Reformation
Institutional, social and ethical reform
Defined the distinctive Protestant concept of forensic justification
Wrote his magnum opus The Institutes of the Christian Religion which would become the standard work on Calvinistic thought
First edition (1536)
Final edition (1559)
Geneva was the center of Calvinism religiously and politically

John Knox, a student of Calvin, was the founder of the Presbyterian Church

1559-1622--The Period of Orthodoxy

Necessity of each of the Protestant denominations to distinguish themselves from Catholicism and each other
Protestant scholasticism emerges
Lutheranism and Calvinism differed on Predestination

Who headed the church council then or who are the members that made up its body.

Cos the last time I checked my history books, Pope Pius I was the bishop of Rome when the movement started, he was the one that opposed marcion and later excommunicated him.

keep shooting yourself in the leg with this your article cos I bet you, by the time you will be through with this your thread, you will be surprised the credit you must have given the one single church you so much dislike.
