If the Aborisha exists, why didn't they stop the exploits of the British Missionaries. Afterall, they destroyed shrines.!

I heard of Jewesun from Osamaro Ibie's book on Ifism. He goes into it in Oyeku meji. Frankly, I thought the entire book smacked of western influence and interpretation.

http://documents.mx/documents/101601683-osamaro-ifism-vol-1-english-complete-osamaro-ibie.html

Bros, thanks for the info...... I had my suspicion.

I used to know a formidable herbalist sometime back. But he used to be a jehovah witness before he was kicked out, however his wife and kids still went for service. I remember on several occasions he used the map on the back of his bible to describe or narrate stories, While aligning it to traditional medicine.

I'm thinking someone like him will subscribe to Jewesun...

Jesus also contains the esu spelling, why not worship the creator rather than the created.

Links to what?

It is a Yoruba movie. I think the title is Alani Pamolekun.

A lady called on Jesus in a particual scene and the babalawo shut her up saying Jesus he is calling is Jeswsun in Opon Ifa.

I watched the film.. I remembered your thread on Jewesun immediately Lalude refered to Jesus as Jewesu in the movie.. I think Lalude is an Aborisha because he is very versed when is comes to Ifa panegyrics and incantations..

His words ring bell in my head every now and then.

My woman was the one watching the movie. My attention was caught instantly when Lalude shouted down his victim. I thought I was wrong but had to rewind back to the scene to be sure of what I heard. Alas, it is the same Jewesun we all discussed about.

An Adaja who happens to live close to my house once narrated that Jesus was casting Ifa Ile (something like the one Alfas usually do called Ilm Al Raml or Sand Science). He even mentioned the Odu Jesus inscibed. Cant remember. He said Orunmila taught Arab/jewish nation and other nations around the world Ifa. When he was saying this, I thought he was kidding. . .trying to throw some jabs to Christians and muslims around. But this Jewesun stuff is bringing sense into his past words.

In the new Isese circle, especially we Babalawos, the Jewesun being Jesus rumour seem to be rife yet no one, at least none that I know can or has been able to pin point what Odu Ifa he can be found and if there's any similarities between him and Jesus.

In addition, Lalude may be an Olorisa or a Babalawo but his Ifa chants are learnt at Babalawo or Olorisa homes - his chants are usually surface 'ohun' recited during conflicts. Lalude and 'Kudaisi used to visit my uncle who is now late to learn one or two things - at least they were there earlier this year. Don't get carried away by their chants, all na beans.

Folks like Elebuibon, Peter Fatomilola, Saheed Osupa have concrete Ifa chants if you need folks to listen to.

I'm only saying acting is different from real life.

I no sabi any incantations. Besides, my Odu forbids that I learn things of that nature.

I'm only saying I have met these folks. During his last visit, Lodi Agba (Apena Ogboni) in Ife well versed in Ifa thought Lalude was real with Ifa and wanted to engage him in a back and forth. He got scared and my late uncle had to break up the circle.

I'm good.

Till I get verification from solid sources on the Jewesun/Jesu link with verfiable ese Ifa, I refuse to buy into it.

I once asked the daughter of the Baale of Popo Yemoja in Ibadan when Folykaze first mentioned it on some thread, she said she has heard of the claim but couldn't cite one ese ifa to back this - she is very deep in Ifa, she knows quite a lot of Odus. She asked her father who's the Yemoja Chief priest, renowned Ifa/Babalawo in Oyo state and Baale in Ibadan about it and he shot it down saying it was/is a lie and pure falsehood.

Ifa is not so hard, just an ese ifa on Jewesun will put the mystery to rest.

Despite the evil onslaught of Abrahamic religions that spreads hate, bigotry and violence, all cultures still retain their traditional practices to a large extent. You just need to scratch the surface. The Aborisha exists, the Wiccan exists, The Maiguzuwa exists and etc because they are natural to their people and they will be revived eventually. They are all under thesame God. Not the beast of Abrahamic religions. Europeans are no longer Christians and we are now Christians, why haven't we overtaken them? As for why we were colonised, I will answer with a saying 'Eni yara ni Ogun ngbe' meaning Ogun assists and supports anyone with initiative, that is fast enough to seize an opportunity.

Ogun supported England when they championed the industrial revolution and will support you today if you commit to any noble venture. Ase

Yes Isoye, there are different types by grades sir.

Some are for life and some are for certain periods.

Why would someone get ise from itinerant gbogbonise merchants? Does one know if the materials are complete, if they have not been exposed to what not, if a female on menstrual has touched it or people who have ajeegun problems?

And it does work, it is real. The downside of it is the memory of horrible or just situations one wants to forget.

Imo is another level, where you have a spirit companion who speaks to you.

I am not Lalude who used it in incantation.

The character might not be Jesus but I have read about it severally and also heard about it in some traditional discussion.

Just like some takes Thor as Sango though they are not same character but have resemblance. Jesus and Jewesun could have same resemblance but actually could not be the samething.

I have heard that Baba Agbonmiregun sawo lo si ogberi okun. And he taught all nations on earth about Ifa. This is why divination proces across the world look much like Ifa while Ifa is more complicated and sophisticated than them. The like of Kabbalah, iching, geomancy, ilm al raml, and sikidy are reflection of Ifa divination. In here, Jewesun could have appear which could be Jesus but Jew wrote another story of it. So many things sha

Maybe we need to engage real babalawo on this

Re: Why I Am An Aborisha by Nobody: 10:02pm On Nov 28, 2015
lawani:

Do never take Ifa stories at face value. There are verses depicting Obatala as a woman, then later as a man. Ifa is not absolute truth and all the characters featured in Ifa stories were incarnated severally. There are many means by which stories entered the corpus, some Awos claim to be able to telepathically know what is happening in other cultures, then put it in the corpus, it does not mean the stories are true or false but they offer lessons. Ifa is not absolute truth! Far from it. Nothing is absolute truth.

This your statement is simply inspired.

I don’t purport to know anything about “Ifa” practice or “Awo” but what I can say from personal experience is that the Yoruba pantheon of gods have long entered the stream of universal consciousness. Many of these deities are “incarnates” or have “incarnated” several times. They exist in a hidden place and may enter the world as they please, sometimes through humans or even animals. They are a reflection of pure divine light.

The deity known in pop culture as the Horned One was a deity I first encountered as Lord Krishna, this deity is also known as Papa Legba, intermediary between humanity and the great empyrean.

I am not certain that Papa Legba is a Yoruba god (some of you guys may clarify) but I am sure Yemoja is a Yoruba goddess. The affiliation of this goddess is with the ocean and the moon, she has presented through the ages in different guises and I encountered this deity as a Wolf. She is in fact the matriarch of the seven keepers of the earth.

Most fascinating to me is Obatala, the most private and intense of deities, the deity presents as a great tortoise, master of wisdom and creativity with close affiliation to the earth. Many do worship this deity as their supreme god.
