Nissan Datsun Cherry. (These were probably the cheapest cars that were sold in Nigeria in the early 1990s. Someone decided to import lots of second hand Cherries and the person hit a gold mine. The whole second hand car craze of the 1990s started with this car).

Morris Minor and Mobyllete

(Those are 1950s and '60s vehicles).

You just reminded me of an old man that used to deliver newspapers while riding a mobyllete (the one with pedals).

Citroen DS

They had a hydropneumatic suspension system which allowed the driver to raise the car when driving over bad surfaces and lower the car when the road was good.

The lights could swivel, which was quite useful when driving round corners.

They were very popular in Lagos in the 1970s and '80s.

The limousine

The sports car.

It brings back good memory of our family outing. Opel Record was for everyday use. Honestly I will pay any amount to have one of this again.

Jesusfallsatan:

Only the rich uses these cars then. Just like today's Bentley, Ferrari and the rest, they will all look like this 20-30 years to come.

In the 60's to 90's Pegeout was the reigning car brand names just like Toyota, Honda and the rest are of today. Come year 2060 it may be another name in vogue.

Come year 2060, it me be 'Emek' cut from Emeka just like 'Suzuki' 'Honda' cut from the real names of the makers.

The Peugeot 505 Evolution was introduced c1988, but it was still very popular in the early 1990s. It's a sportier version of the very popular 505.

Volkswagen Santana 2000.

This car was the successor to the hugely popular Santana GX, VIP and Ambassador of the 1980s. It was introduced into the Nigerian market in the early 1990s. However, it was not as popular as the original Santana of the '80s.

Most of those cars in the first set of pics weren't used in Nigeria in the 90s. More like 60s and 70s.
