You mean fly-by-night 'briefcase-investors' ?

Real sector investors care about an enabling environment, and are less worried about devaluation or not -- they want 'fairly constant variables'.

BTW, hoarders, speculators, racketeers and profiteers are largely to blame for the Naira's current woes, and that includes the banks and the CBN.

It's uncanny that 99% of the time our thoughts are in tandem....

The people shouting the loudest apart from the importers of non essential items are the "stock market" investors who won't invest in tangibles... all their "investments" are on paper, never commodities or human capital.

You are not likely to hear Nestlé beg for devaluation when they know the negative impact that is going to have on their market share & bottomline.

I totally agree with you. Unless we see ourselves as a nation, unless there is a common interest that binds us together, the West will always be able to divide and conquer us. One Nigeria should not only be preached, it must be implemented and practiced!
Thanks for agreeing with me.
I do read some stuffs about conspiracy against Africa by the west led solely by the US about whether a they tolerate a monstrously populated black nation that fights with each other or to have banana republics that wouldnt be able to challenge them as we did on their gay marriage and solved our ebola problem.
Again when obama called a US AFRICA meeting and thought we would be asking about aid but to his utmost surprise we asked for improved power and improved biz relations.this my dear is an affront to them.we are supposed to be slaves and not equals.
If u think that America is our friend check this evil genius called Henry Kissinger and co who makes wicked foreign policies on population control of Africa not because they wanted a few happy families but a few poor families.
These dying race is afraid of our viral fertility rate.
They supported nigeria in the civil war because of economic interest but refused to support nigeria against boko haram.
Doesn't that tell u that they are tired of nigeria being big enough to be a regional power and leading africa?
Using amnesty international to threaten our campaign against bh.
Few knew that the west are financiers of isis and alqaeda which they use to create instability and toppling of hostile regimes so why cant bh be their product also.
The best thing for us is to implement national confab reports so that everyone will have a stake and sense of belonging in nigeria and together we shall the west in the face and give them the middle finger.

Yes, America is God's Own country. Their laws are clear and fair, this is where you can find equity and justice if you are wronged.

Let me give you instances of what a God's Own Country is;

If you are disable in American, you are sure to get free housing, food, personal care aides and medical care.
If you work hard, your social mobility is certain.
In American, money is not a hindrance to education.
All people of difference religion live and work together without hate.
Security of life and property is efficient.

Now tell, what else is God's own country?
i feel ashamed at ur comment defending America as God's own country.
Its true that their citizens are happy back home but the same government that provides welfare services to Americans will go and innocent farmers at Vietnam, iraq and create ,arm and finance isis, alqaeda bh to cause carnage in what they called third world countries.
Create zika virus for south americans in order to control reproduction in that part of the world.
If u are looking for who owns america, look at their dollar.if Egypt worships God in the pyramids then the americans are worshipping God also.
America's sole destiny is to usher in the beast.Read Revelations 13,america is the beast that looks like a lamb and which advices and encourages people to worship the beast.FACT

Kissinger, Clinton, Soros, McCain and the rest of them will die a shameful death. Did you notice that the top economies in Africa I.e Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia are faced with problems that could lead to possible civil wars in these countries?

Nigeria is faced with terrorism which Buhari has handled very well but the Biafdan issue is a serious one that can easily be exploited to "Lybialize" Nigeria (in other words, prevent Nigeria from attaining its potential by destroying the government and looting the oil dry lime France is doing in Lybia).

Suddenly, Western media has started castigating South Africa's Jacob Zuma and his ANC party. Obama had in 2009 promised to squash South Africa for daring to be a part of the BRICS.

Egypt would have been another Lybia but thanks to God and their military heads for averting a color revolution and restoring normalcy to the country. But we all know the Americans will not stop pushing until they get what they want.

Algeria and Tunisia are sitting on a gun powder that may explode very soon. What these whole events means to the rest of Africa is that violence, terrorism, financial recession etc will be the order of the day. The West would not have to pay tfor anything again. Free resources, free labor, free terrorists to fight proxy wars in other regions etc.

You asked so I will tell you that Veterans are disproportionately homeless
Nearly one in seven homeless adults are veterans, as of December 2011.

More than 67,000 homeless veterans were counted on a given January night in America last year. More than 4 in 10 homeless veterans were found unsheltered.

Almost half of homeless veterans were African American in 2008 despite the fact that only 11 percent of veterans overall are African American.

1.5 million veterans are at risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.

Many veterans have trouble finding good jobs 1.2 million veterans used mental health services in 2010.
Feel free to check this with the 2011 Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

I could go on and on but you get the picture.

On the question concerning Donald Trump, you just proved what Ive been saying all along, most people living in American have no basic understanding of foreign policy, hence all a candidate has to do is say some patriotic rhetoric and the follow like the pied piper. I think the question is not whether they should be there but WHO ASKED YOU THEM TO BE THERE.

They are there mainly because the US sees it foreign policy to station troops at allies. Funny thing is NO OTHER COUNTRY DOES IT? Do you see French troops or European troops stationed in the US? Have a look at what the US spends on the military, yet the the bridges and electric grid is from the 50's. Like really, what would happen if they pulled out of Asia, you honestly believe China or N. Vietnam would attack LOL!

Trump was the same guy that said they Israelis should pay, but when he stood in front of the Jewish lobby some weeks ago, he said nothing of the such.

sonnie10:

What percent of Americans are Veterans and what percentage of veterans live in poverty? Google VAH, affirmative action, equal employment, post 9/11 and GI bill, then you will be well informed. No government have done more for its veterans than the US. For your information, most of those veterans were in NATO forces, maintaining peace in those countries you listed. Now the veterans are left for US alone to take care of while those countries enjoy the benefits from their service. That is totally unfair and this big brother gesture will soon come to an end. Do you know how many US personals are stationed in South Korea, Japan, Saudi etc. Who do you think is paying their salary and maintaining their families back home? Does American pluck money from tree? If those countries can take care of themselves, why do they have these people there?

This is why Donald Trump have maintained that those countries benefiting from US military strength must start paying for the service should he become President. Although I have my reservations for him, with comments like yours, I can not but agree with him on that aspect.

thank God u know,i named kissinger and u named the rest but this is not a hopeless situation since we can salvage the situation by settling every aggrieved group in nigeria especially southeast but if we continue to sideline igbos, then the opportunity to balkanize us will be there for the vultures to exploit.
How can a majority like southeast have only five states while every other regions have average of six states.
This is why there is enough manure for the agitation.
Remember Donald Trump made a case for recolonization of Africa, for now it seems funny but on second thought its more than possible.
First is the solidarity of the west in exploiting Africa.
Did any of their human rights loudmouths say anything about Libya, syria, iraq.
Secondly most of us are dependant on foreign aids and stuffs.
Thirdly we had desperadoes who are willing to sellout to the west such as u can see among our so-called leaders.
I believe that its not our inability to refine petroleum products in nigeria but deliberate conspiracy by our first republic prime minister with her evil majesty.Chief Awolowo was asking the content of the hidden document Balewa signed with the British and Balewa declined to explain and told Chief Awolowo that its not a harmful document but should be kept secret and Awolowo maintained that since the document is a property of nigerians that nigerians should know about the content.
This is the hatred Bello and Balewa had for Chief Awolowo while my useless zik was complicit in the whole thing because the British had him through a loan he secured from UBA or so.he was being threatened with jail.
So u see,we will always have sellouts should the need arise.

In all honesty, the South East has indeed been marginalized. If the North Central with less population than the Igbo race has 6 states, why should the South East have just 5? Why does Northern states have more land mass than Southern states? My state (Kogi) for example has more land mass than Anambra, Abia and Imo combined. As if that is unfair enough, Niger state is larger than the Sourh East region. This is simply unfair. Take a look at the Kurds in Turkey and Syria today. If we don't develop a political system that acknowledges the Igbo's in Nigeria, the Igbo's will develop a political system that will undermine the integrity of Nigeria. It is time for the Federal Government to wake up and realize that divided we fall is not just a phrase, it can also be a reality.

Those are the prices you pay to have a peaceful world where people coexist. While the rest of the world were lukewarm and did not show any concern for the different atrocity that were being committed in other parts of the world, American took the bull by the horn and faced the monsters. Was American not minding their business when in 1942 they were attacked by Japan? Germany, Italy and some other European countries in the axis formed coalition against American. From that moment, every enemy of the US got want they wanted. It is always better to let a sleeping dog lay. It is only nations with purposeless leaders that would not forge strategic alliance to secure themselves. The Nigerian system needs amendments. Complete restructuring would be better but it is too radical and will lead to violence, breeds more tension amongst and within regions so what needs to be done is to amend the system to suit the current situation and also try to deal with possible future problems that may arise. I do not know anything about the Confab other than the pictures of some of the participants sleeping and stories I read about the jumbo pay they got.

Oh boy hear we go again, someone who is misinformed making up facts. Though I really dont have the time, let me educate you a bit.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was Dec 1941, not 1942. You would think think that for someone that claims to know so much about america they would know that. Whats next a christian claiming Xmas is in November.

The US was not minding their business, the Japanese attacked as a preemptive measure for the US involvement at the time in the Pacific (South East Asia to be exact) as the US was increasing their fleet presence there. So they saw it as provocation.

Germany, Italy didnt form any axis. Actually they never declared war on America. That was the whole issue, Churchill wanted to get the US into the war and Roosevelt refused. Funny thing was years back the US and UK actually thought that Hitler was a good leader, even after he invaded Austria and Poland. Truth be told the US would have probably never entered WWII if not for Pearl Harbor even as London was being bombed. These are facts. Im surprised though, dude this is High school basic history 101 I learned as a freshman at Prep School in Jersey.

Funny you say on one hand thats the price you pay, then claim that. Then you claim they have no regrets yet you agree with Trump that the allies should pay for it grin. I get it, you are not sure what you want.

I like how you didnt comment any more on the veterans issue when I answered your question . The saddest part is that half of the homeless are black, whereas they only make up 11% of the enlisted soldiers.

Dude I also have a Blue (US Passport) ( and a Dutch and Nigerian one if you want to get technical), but it doesnt blind me from seeing facts. I love the US like my brother, but like a african adage, ONLY YOU BROTHER CAN TELL YOU YOUR BREATH IS SMELLING. . Its a a great place, yet has its issues. In the US the extremes are extremes ( rich, poor, hate etc etc)

Enough lecturing for today, digest this, take some notes and if yo have any questions, let me know and i will see if I have time to get back to you, now need to grab me a double Latte, I earned it wink

I have to be honest with you, although you wrote a lengthy defense, not a single point was made. This response is really disappointing. How do you justify a country that goes about bombing another in a surprise attack without even a declaration of war? Is bombing the first action in negotiation? Then all of a sudden, American became the aggressor because they had presence in a particular region. I bet, the Japanese did not think it through before embarking on that suicide mission.

That Donald Trump want your lazy ass countries to start paying for military services is not a national consensus, that is his personal view and because of statements from quarters like yours, I totally agree with him on that. No US government past or present have ever shown any sign of regret for bailing out any of those incapacitated countries. Does Donald Trump speak for the US govt?

As a student of research, I find it amusing when statistics are used in a careless manner. Without any details of what, where, when and how those numbers where obtained, you expect me to critic on figures which I do not know the bases on which they were collected. You mentioned that I never responded on the veteran comment anymore. Well, I stop when I discovered that you indirectly answered you self without knowing it even. Let me explain using the figures you provided. First you said, 67,000 homeless veteran where counted in a single night and 4 in 10 where unsheltered (You need to define this word). What that suggest is that only about 17000 veterans did not have a recognized, structure place of living at the time of counting. Then you complicated yourself by saying that majoring of them have mental health issues. True. Evidently, most are from Post Traumatic Stress. The costly price which men and women of American have paid to make the world a peaceful place. Remember, people with certain health issues most times do not want to take advantage of services even when they are available.

My question to you is this, on what occasion, where and why and for what purpose were they counted on a single night?

I dont even know why I waste my time with you, but its something about your ignorance that compels me.

Let me answer your questions, ok
Is bombing the first action in negotiation?
You should as the US, they have done that on several occassions (Libya, Dessert Storm etc). The only ppl they told were the Soviet Union an hour before attacking.

My question to you is this, on what occasion, where and why and for what purpose were they counted on a single night?
Um I wrote in my reply, student of research: Feel free to check this with the 2011 Bureau of Labor Statistics data. I got all my info from their site so you can ask them how they got it.

Im curious, which institution are you studying Student of Research (never knew research was a major LOL), I want to look out for their graduates. If you are the best they have to offer, God spare us...

For a student of research you do have trouble making your points and assimilating and understanding data, 1942 when it was 1941, missing where I quoted my source. Anyway, it is what it is. God knows you wouldn't survive my classes. I have a pet peave with students who think they know something turns out its all fluff and hot air.

PBundles:

The guy you are replying too, sonnie10, has no clue what he is talking about, Ive been schooling him so much, Im thinking about sending him a invoice. I have seen ignorance before, but he is up there at the top and may have claimed the crown. He may have won a green card lottery, got lucky with a travel visa and never went back deciding being illegal is the way to go (should watch out Mr Trump wants these type out) or has such low self esteem that you wonder if he was ever hugged as a child.

At times I wonder if that guy was given birth to by humans. He is shameless and extremely stoopid.

When someone says "I am a student of XYZ," it is never intended to mean a major in any field of study. One can be a student of Life, but not literally. I can't believe you took it to mean a university course/major!

So, you now agree that those countries were the pioneers of indiscriminate bombing. As far as I know, those who started bombing in 1940s are the masters of the art. Don't come and cry foul using instances of 1980/90 when you are being paid back with same coin?

Finally, my personal life an immigration status has no bearing in this talk with you. But if you are so curious, I will post a link for you to verify my professional affiliation. It would take years (not less than 10 years) for any legal immigrant to think of becoming a member of the professional organization let alone an illegal.

American is still God's Own Country. Your opinion about me can not change that. I believe that was the premise of this discussion. I don't know why I have to steer you back all the time to the main point of our discussion. So, stop derailing or do you need help with maintaining focus?

if God created country, why are people fighting over territory and water.
