The Enugu State auditor, Ogbobe Stephen, allegedly abducted by Fulani herdsmen along Nsukka- Adani highway has been released. Vanguard gathered that a ransom of N700,000 was paid at a designated place in Amokwu community, Udi local government area, Enugu state.

The auditor was allegedly kidnapped Saturday last week, by Fulani herdsmen along the lonely Nsukka-Adani express road while returning from a town hall meeting at Ukpabi community. According to reports, Ogbobe Stephen, with five others, ran into a road block mounted by herdsmen around 4pm.

The herdsmen initially demanded for N5m ransom on Sunday, then reduced it to N1.5m the next day, before collecting N700,000 ransom for the release of the auditor.

The menace of these herdsmen needs serious attention and action from relevant authorities, the DSS needs to stop playing tribal politics of IPOB with it and deal with it as a national crisis.
The FG needs to do something about desertification in the North which is leading to mass migration of herdsmen some of them coming from neighbouring countries. Let us send Fulanis to Denmark and Texas to go and study how they do ranching and Agric students and workers should be sent to Israel and UAE to study how a desert can be turned into a Greenland to feed cattle.

It's funny how the media is branding them "Fulani herdsmen " when they are actually terrorists, kidnappers and marauders. This has to stop! The fact that the Nigerian police that includes Federal SARS and the army was unable to release the man without a ransom begs the a bigger question. Are these people more sophisticated than the kidnappers being arrested every now and then in the SE, SS and SW? I pity anyone who doesn't see the game plan.
