Lol I refuse to call myself the a word...but anyway yes and no. Yes because there is struggles of a being a non-religious nigerian female. I am a minority within a minority of a minority. It is easier in western cultures to be non-religious but not in africa cultures.

Ppl are so naive to believe because someone is non-religious that makes them a bad person but I know I'm not. But I'm grateful to be free from the mental enslavement of religion. Im free!

I have never really believed in any god. I would rather say that I was in doubt in the non existence of a god and not in it's existence. Besides, who wishful thinking don epp?

There is this psychological longing for higher authority especially the omni- sort of, to protect us from this lonely universe that seems empty with no other life form.

Honestly, i never and will never regret disbelieving in stuffs am convincingly aware that it is spurious and utterly ridiculous.

I potentially need a high authority even more than fundamentalist theists do but can't subject my intuitive self to delusional wishful thoughts.

Being an atheist in a religious fundamentalist country like Nigeria is very difficult. The society looks at you like you are the devil itself, it can lead to discrimination, hatred and sometimes physical harm.

On a personal level, life for the atheist can be lonely and hard, there is no body to blame failures on, you have to work hard for everything you achieve. There is no third party to draw inspiration from, you draw inspiration from within yourself. And there is no second chance, this life is all you have to make a difference.

A lot of atheists feel like cipher in matrix, they wish they took the blue pill.

We are all grateful to be free from the shackles of religion , but what i am talking about is about the belief in god , a god who is omnipotent and omnibenevolent. . U do know there are some people who believe i. This kind of god but do not subscribe to any religion.

As a hardcore christian, I was ignorant.

Ignorance is bliss.

But it is nothing compared to the wonders of knowledge

-The knowledge that life is precious and no one owns your soul
-The knowledge that there is not only one dogmatic truth but a million things we could learn
-The knowledge that love is far better than obedience or servitude.


Freedom of mind is very powerful.

Atheism is sobering but it is also empowering.

Your ignorance was not because you were a christian , I mean you are still ignorant . I think you need to work on yourself and stop putting the blame on religion or being deluded thinking atheism has extricated you from ignorance .

Have you seen hell? Do you know where it is? Even the bible is not clear about hell.

I asked a question.

Not for a second, I get happier with my stance by the day.

Am I an atheist? I believe in a creator, but not in religion. Is He omnipotent enough to be called God? Maybe, maybe not. But I dont regret being free.
