There are always stories attached to Yoruba praise poetry!
lol.. Don't mind me I was just being sarcastic.. I always make fun of my friends who are from iwo that how can they be praising themselves as "iwo ti o ni lekun, iwo ti o ni kokoro, omo ateni gbore"

I honestly think the Afobajes of Yoruba land are getting it wrong in recent choice of their kings or could it be that some politicians enforce their candidates on them through settlements? Certain traditional stools are meant for elders but if there are no elders in such royal families again, young ones who have been taught the tenets of royalty and who have related well with elders, should be appointed. Oluwo of Iwo is looking for a very cheap publicity in a wrong way. You cannot in anyway measure up to Ooni's status through that fake staff of office (which is alien to our Iwo land) or cheap publicity that you are always looking for. If you must copy kings, emulate older ones who have earned reputation for themselves through character and carriage (e.g. Soun, Alaafin, Awujale, Alake & Owa Obokun). Imagine Femi Gbajabiamila standing right and shaking hands with a prominent Yoruba king ((Oluwo). Why won't he if Ooni can take same insult from politicians. And it's neither the fault of the politicians but these kings who would downgrade and desecrate the thrones by jumping from one politician's house/office to another.

This king was recently reported as leading Eid Fitri prayer in Iwo land, the first to be so done by a Yoruba king, all in an attempt to please the northern emirs and his fanatical followers. Yoruba kings are traditional rulers and not religious rulers, and the likes of Alaafin of Oyo and Awujale of Ijebu land (both practising Muslims) should call this midget to order and remind him that he's father to all religions before he sends a wrong signal to Muslim fanatics and sets a religious crisis-prone town on fire.

you're right bro, the guy cant even stay in his palace for a month without junketing around , i dnt even knw where he copied this kind of lifestyle. I was even surprised when i heard that someone with a foreign wife is going to be the new oluwu of iwo land. His predecessor, "oba olatunbosun tadese" was'nt like this.

You dey mind the yeye king,he is trying too hard to be like ooni, looking for cheap publicity up and down.he is still young and has a long way to go.I hope his reign will be peaceful cos he looks controversial and religious biased.

Can we know the purpose of the visit, hope is not another round of publicity stunt. We really need a better thing to face in this nation than celebrating visit of kings, either young or old. Nigeria is hungry for all round positive change.

Iwo Odidere a gbe wa o.

I purposely avoided commenting on these new generation yoruba Obas who are gradually losing their respect unknowingly including the new Ooni.

Unfortunately some people will not discern the damage being done to Yoruba royal stools by controversial/religious actions of these guys who thinks such will make them better, acceptable to outsiders and their subjects whilst they trample upon yoruba culture/traditions.

Imagine an oba having photshoot of handshakes, visiting and courting attention from politicians. Supposed custodians of Yoruba culture and traditional religions who are gradually becoming bling bling chop knuckle kings.
