YES O bro. i cant just stop learning and keep exploring. I have a two/three year target which it is on motion. It is my aim and target. So i still check top info i can see around ,,if am on course or not so that i wont be caught on aware because in this game, top traders change the rules without you knowing, and you have to explore what they have by pushing certain questions to them. It is such a thread you can see some secret weapon and game changer you are not aware of.
One of my accounts, my aim is just crazy 10% weekly gain, then keep compounding. It has been interesting movements and success. I trade as a sniper on that account. I just trade majorly GU and ger30 (your friend), and scantily EU. Where i am wounded on GU, ger30 comes to the rescue in due time and vice versa. This week trading alone was 17%+ because of little extra trading of yesterday. My little trick is that, i always aim to double my account without over trading within 2 months, withdraw the profit to open another account, then keep trading them together to achieve my 2 year plan. I have learnt my lessons enough in this market. i dont want costly but avoidable mistakes again. I dont want to be depositing into my account again, i want to be withdrawing from it, which is the aim of trading. This comes to finding the true edge and what works for you, stick to it if need be and pursue it with all what you gat.
HAppy weekend. grin grin

Sometimes I wonder when one will stop learning in forex , is it when you die?? grin grin someone who claims to have been trading for 10 years still learning ..
At least to be a very sound engineer , you get a Bac+masters in 5 years + PhD in 3 years thats a total of 8 years.. and you are an expert in your field ...
If after trading 8 years and you still learning then I must say its either there is something wrong with your head thus having problems with understanding and its very likely such a person either didnt do very well in school or probably never had a higher education .
Moreso there are other kinds of people , the so called AKA GUM , who always try to be too smart and conservative and never want to lose 1 kobo of their money, always scared of losing money.
If you find yourself in any of these category bolded above, you need to quit trading .. its not for you...
8+ years of trading you supposed to have seen it all both the indicator trading, basket trading cheesy , long term , scalping , news trading (none of these should be new for you anymore) etc , the good bad and the ugly side of trading ..
The 8 years mention is actually an exaggeration , it should be 5 years top grin grin okay if you are a stark illiterate probably I can understand 8-10 years . .. but common this is like 15% of ones life span..
To all those concerned try to settle all your carry overs and graduate as soon as possible cheesy cheesy life is too short to remain an everlasting student cheesy cheesy cheesy

well bro, if you think you can know everything in price movement or fx, i think you may be wrong. Even in school, despite the fact that you have all the certificates, there are some jobs you may not do with that of your experience. The market is very dynamics and require updates to keep you in track. 10 years ago, you can predict a trend and be accurate many of the time, but now a days, it is difficult. That is why i posted that link up , at least, it can help someone. Dont tell me that you havent change your strategies in the past 1 year? why? it is part of learning, as you are trying something that will work, if you find what works for you, good, you still learn to keep you in track.
IMHO, learning is continous, even if you have an overall edge. At least, you will know new thing. Even professor in school keep learning. The day you stop learning, then, you are as good as dead.
cheers

excerpts from http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=587862&page=8 POST NUMBER 320 BY CAT... only the humble will see sense in it, too know is what is killing a lot of account and traders....

Referring back to your original comment about there being "something missing", there will always be something missing, as I'm sure was your implication. Trading is and can never be a game of perfect. I have had plenty of ' Eureka ' moments along the way, but the more I learnt, the fewer they became as I realized that such moments are like the false summit when you are climbing a mountain - you think you're at the top only to find out as you reach the crest that the next summit is way off in the distance, only with trading, you never reach the summit because there isn't one, you can only climb higher and higher.

All we can do is, as the cliche goes, ' put the odds in our favour ', and in trading terms this is the ' edge' that we must have so as to come out ahead at the end of the day, week, month, year etc. This is the hardest part, because we have to learn to internalize our losses, to view them in the same way we view all our other expenses, whether it be paying bills, taxes or merely buying food, and just as we don't walk out of the supermarket feeling deflated and depressed because we have just spent whatever on the week's shopping ( we may do of course, especially if the wife and kids have added 40% to the bill by throwing expensive luxuries into the basket every thirty seconds!) so must our losses be detached from any form of emotional response.

I can only speak personally, but for me the real turning point, by which I mean that period of time where I was able to completely concentrate on my trading for a living, was when I had fully accepted that to win well, I had to lose well. I believe anyone, if they hang in there long enough, can learn enough about the markets to give themselves a concerted edge - that ability to read price movement to the point where trading opportunities can be identified and acted upon. However, in this lies an important paradox, because it is these losses which prevent the majority of traders from getting to where they need to be, for no one likes to lose, life teaches us this, and these losses are personalized and allowed to sabotage our trading performance.

The secret to trading then, just perhaps, is not just learning to trade with momentum on your side or learning to identify when price is about to break out of its range, it is the ability to put on the next trade irrespective of the result of the last one, and to keep on doing it trade after trade. Few can do this. Few of us can truly accept the enormity of our own fallibility. We want to be special, to be the person that can see what others can't, to do something that actually can't be done, which is to master the markets, when in fact all we have to do ultimately is master ourselves as traders and learn to take advantage of the numerous opportunities the markets present us with.

It is so simple, and yet, it is perhaps the most difficult thing any of us have ever attempted to do.

I can't remember where I read it, but a quote that stuck in my mind was " to trade well, you have to become something you are not". This is so true.

Hello Mate,
Firstly you had a good trade going. There are more exit on your chart but I would speak on where you should have possibly exited the market.
Try to hit singles and not home run,

Do be advise I trade conservatively, grin

Here are your two trades,

IMHO though, hope this helps?

The pros in the house could also possibly help shed more insight in your trades

what happened to our Ghanaian buddy prettyboey and pipsbasketing, they sure would have had a wonderful insight in matters on H4 (swing trading)

Happy Weekend,

Thank you Mr. Feshizzy for your helpful insights. With your help I have realized where i went wrong.

1. I didn't take note of the support zones you highlighted maybe because I marked mine from the Daily TF.

2. My lack of knowledge on how to use trendlines maybe the reason I am fearful on the slightest occurrence of retracements (can you tutor me on that?).

Thank God this is not my main live account. Just following the advise of a friend who told me not to jump straight to live account with huge capital that it would do me good to start with a capital that I can afford to lose just to master my strategy and emotions that rarely comes from demo trading.

Forex Weekly Outlook August 22 – 26
Global financial markets reacted to comments from US senior Fed officials last week, after a report shows a healthy manufacturing sector with 0.7 percent increase in industrial production and 0.5 percent surge in manufacturing output with a capacity utilization rate of 75.9 percent — the highest since December 2014.

Although, consumer prices came out flat at 0.0 percent as expected, building permits remained moderate with a resilient labor market (unemployment claims of 262,000). This week, investors are looking to an annual meeting of central bankers from around the world in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, at which Fed Chair Janet Yellen is scheduled to speak, for clues on the course of monetary policy. A hawkish outlook will strengthen the dollar as investors are expected to price in the likelihood that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates in the second half of the year.

Honestly There is nothing more to learn, just same old stories recycled over and over again.. after trading 5 years you only need one month in that 5 years to learn the basics... you tell me what happened to the remaining 4.5 years cheesy just like the policeman quoted above, you ought to have mastered the art of trading during this period but mastering the art also means you now know you can't avoid the losses but be able to accept and manage it efficiently.

Go learn about forex from babypips site,
and firstly concentrate on how much you are willing loose.

To be honest $1 a day is fare,
That's 1% of your account for starters.
And if you do well enough that $20 in a month also 20%.

That's using a lot size of 0.01 on a standard account
And
0.1 on a mini account.

Be advised trading forex comes with risks.

It might seen a rather small amount, but believe me compounding that amount in 12 months will wow you.
