Set on “High Performance” mode, screen brightness to the highest, mobile browsing intermittently and music playing on full blast, the 3000 mAh non-removable battery of the Infinix Hot S went from full charge to zero from in 6 hours 50 minutes.

However, charging from zero to a 100% was faster — expectedly– as it went from flat to full charge in 3 hours 23 minutes.

The battery fast-charges from zero to 70 %, but when nearing the 90% mark, it crawls at an incredibly slow pace; to store up more charge I guess.

Fingerprint Identification



This feature is more than just a security upgrade in the Infinix Hot S. The fingerprint technology in the back is also a convenient way to navigate certain functions with your unique fingerprint; answer calls, snap photos and browse photos.

Infinix Hot S; Unboxing and First Impressions

The Infinix Hot S also known as the Infinix X521 is the recent addition in the Infinix range of smartphones. With the wave of new devices from other brands it seemed like Infinix Mobility were either resting on their laurels or bidding time.

From what I can see of the Infinix Hot S, the latter looks like it; they were indeed trying to outdo themselves. You will see what I mean from this unboxing we are about to experience.

Well protected with this seal on devices these days that makes tampering a near impossibility

On the top front side of the phone, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter, speaker for calls in the middle and the sensor.

Its charging port, call microphones, and extra speakers are at the base of the Infinix Hot S

The 13MP primary camera and flash is in the back…

…and the bigger circle above is a fingerprint scanner that unlocks the device and takes pictures too.

The price eh??

The Infinix Hot S is very light for its 5.2 inches. Too light? There’s nothing like too light for a smartphone, the lighter the better. And it handles well.

It was easy to add my fingerprint to the database and it unlocked everything. You had to choose between pattern lock, passwords and of course the fingerprint lock was my choice.

Finger placed at the back unlocks and locks everything and also takes pictures too.

The Infinix Hot S retails for ₦45,500 on Jumia. It is not very cheap, but with the current specs, it is worth every kobo.

I like the look of the Infinix Hot S.
