Hi Everyone,

This has been a different week due to the international break, but it’s now over and we are already focused on the Premier League, where we have one of the biggest games of the year: our visit to Anfield. As you know, this is a special game for the Manchester United fans and, in general, one of the greatest clashes of the season in European football.

I have been lucky to enjoy it in the past and I can assure you that this is a game like no other. This time, with both teams in a good moment, I hope we see a spectacular football match. We are really looking forward to showing what we are capable of, to play well and be competitive. After our last draw [against Stoke], the team wants to play as soon as possible to get the three points, as we did the last two times we played at Anfield in the Premier League, and to confirm that we are on the right track. I really hope so.

By the way, this week has marked the 60th anniversary of Sir Bobby Charlton’s debut with Manchester United, so it’s a good moment to give thanks to one of the most charismatic figures in the history of this sport. In Spain, for instance, when you ask for a legend of English football people keep saying: Bobby Charlton. Also, Sir Bobby is one of the best examples of how an extraordinary footballer can keep contributing to our sport and making his name bigger after hanging his boots.

Have a nice week. Hugs to all,

Juan

Make una leave elampiro alone on this Rooney matter. Am sure he himself don realise say Rooney is done and dusted.

Na pride no go wan make am admit that captain Rooney will probably not even be able to break the goal record we so wish he breaks quickly so that he can finally go to China.

It will get to a point when Rooney would be brought in immediately we win a pen just so he can score to achieve breaking that record.

He is raking up his unintentional assist stats.

His back injury probably got worse. May be he should be allowed to rest for a long time to get it heal properly.

Here's Gareth Southgate

'The biggest decision of my career? Making some really close friends redundant — that's probably as big as you can get,' said Southgate, referring to his spell as Middlesbrough boss.

'I've got to make decisions which are right for the team. Whenever you select a team with England, you're going to leave some guys on the bench who are playing every week in the Premier League for their clubs.

'You have to be prepared to do that, that's part and parcel of the job.'

As captain, Rooney will still take part in the pre-match press conference despite not starting the game.

Please show me where he dropped Rooney because he has a back ache.

Na him wife come dey fight for am now. Its never been this bad. Rooney is finished this time

Coleen Rooney launched a passionate defence of her husband, England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney, on Twitter after hearing criticism of him on the radio on Monday.

The form of England's record goalscorer has fallen under intense scrutiny in recent months, with his performances floundering while both his club and country have struggled for results on the pitch.

Coleen took to Twitter to vent her dismay after hearing fans explain on the radio why they had booed him at Wembley on Saturday during England's 2-0 victory over Malta. She said she listened to the criticism while she was in the car with the couple's son, Kai.

Elampiro I respect you a lot but you're sinking to ridiculously low levels with utter tripe like this.

If a footballer has an injury so serious that it negatively impacts his levels of performances, then the player would be allowed to rest and recover while being treated. Rooney is no exception to this and even in the past false injury excuses have been made up to take him out of the firing line due to his bad form at times and I really doubt they'd keeping playing him if he has a really serious injury that negatively impacts his performances. Rooney himself currently wouldn't allow it because he knows it's asking for trouble.

The reality is that Rooney is just that bad and his current form is his usual or average form for the past 2 years or more but just that recently he's getting more exposed than usual. You've to come to terms with reality.
Now I'm even starting to pity him. I just want him to out of my club ASAP and I hope he gets the record. No bad feelings for him, you see?

Now I hope you start being objective regards Rooney. I know you can do this and spare yourself more ridicule; you are a decent poster after all.

Thanks man. I think what most people on this thread never do is accept when what they thought was right is actually wrong. I respect people with firm beliefs not swayed by popular opinion, but when it's this obvious, then it's much respectful to throw in the towel. Egbon elampiro mia mia rooney fo ne...He used to go missing for some games or half of a season then come back in the past, but it's over now. Like someone said, he should be coming in when we get penalties, break the record and quietly relocate to China or US.

Rooney has been playing through injury just to try to help his club and country, but it's getting worse. Rooney's presence alone in a match boosts the confidence of his team mates. But since people complain, he decided to leave the teams alone while he enjoys his 300k on the bench. He will soon be needed again

You no understand football politics. Rooney has a lingering back problem. If the seriousness is announced, United fans would say he should be out until full recovery. So they have to manage the information while managing his game time.

It was the same thing last season when he was going and coming in games. Play two games, then a sudden announcement he is injured, then return after missing one game. Then finally we were told that he would be out for 3 months. That was finally to get him ready for Euro 2016.

Try reason na.

‘I haven’t decided if he will start. He didn’t train yesterday. He had a back problem,’ said Mourinho.

‘I was completely convinced of playing him tomorrow.

‘I’m not sure if I do that because with the situation that you create to him I think he really can’t afford to have a performance that is not really good and I am here to protect him and have to analyse the best thing for him.

‘If he is not totally ready for it, I will discuss that with the medical staff.’

- Mourinho on Rooney.

...........................

Mourinho said he decided to keep Rooney on the bench in the Europa fixture to protect him from media criticism when his back ache wouldnt allow him to reach his optimal. Use your number 6 to analyse the above. If not for the situation the media created for Rooney, Mourinho would never have revealed his medical condition, the manager would have kept playing him until the back problem goes away.

That is the logical conclusion. Anyone with a contrary opinion didn't pass common entrance exam (pry 6 school cert) with his natural brain.

It is ironic how Rooney has diminished in the hearts of United, and football fans, this inevitably consolidates the fact that every player is disposable irrespective of quality.

I remember his meteoric rise in his days with Everton. I also remember watching in anguish how he broke our 30 game unbeaten streak with a brilliant curler from outside the box to assure Everton of a 2-1 home victory against Arsenal.

Today, he has been dropped to the bench in the English squad to face Slovenia on Tuesday, which truthfully has been overdue considering his current form. Personally, for the sake of history, I hope Rooney retires from international football and moves away from the EPL, with hopes it salvages whatever is left of his already damaged legacy.

I don't wish to remember such rare talents in their moments of weakness.

Rooney was great..
