generally, Canadian visa are hard to get for Nigerians but depending on your approach and reason, you would get it. i am quite sure your aim would be to go and settle there, but your best bet would be if you go as a student. getting a student visa would be quite easy compare to other kind of visa.

If you choose the study route, I would advice you to aim for eastern european countries with cheaper tuition fee like 2500 euros per year, depending on the country, you would get a schengen visa to visit other EU countries and accomplish your academic aim or otherwise, and you might be able to work after studies and easily migrate to other places if you want. you might also check www.cic.gc.ca and see if you would qualify for the federal skill route. and it would take some years to land in Canada if successful.

bigmodo
your best bet would be to apply from Nigeria if you chose to go to canada, what most embassy consider before issuing a visa are your TIES from the country you would be applying from. if you want to enter another african country to apply, what evidence will you show to convince the visa officer that you would return ? besides, your document might be difficult for them to confirm since its from another country.

and in anything you do, please do it legally and by yourself, its more easier, cheaper and prevent agents from using fake documents to apply on your behalf.

Goodluck

Lawbreaker, Bigmogo, the easiest way is by checking which country has immigration programmes and see if u fit in...Usa lottery visa programme starts by Oct 2,I"ll advise u to apply..Canada fed skill programme starts by January,Australia and Newzerland have them own packge. The other route is through studies. Germany,Canada,Australia and Denmark allows one to apply for a stay after studies. like d other guy said Canada visa is very difficult to get, infact it is amongs the top 3most difficult visa to get from Nigeria.even if u hv some serious cash in ur account ur still at d mercy of d issuing visa officer. This is one reason I didnot apply while I was in nigeria all tru last year even though I had 2 american visas,2 polish visas,a spanish visa,a german visa and even a Europen resident card all on my passport.(I dey fear dt visa) Lawbreaker, the best way u can get into canada to work and do bizness(my opinion) is through federal skilled work pprogramme.since u say ur into importation bizness(just like me), u proberbly would fall under Business aplication to mgt or whatever,(it is one of the 29 fields listed by d canadian govt,)..the other question is do u have a degree? Or atlist an OND? Then ur age? 18 to 49 gives u good score, then lastly u have to write ELTS test....-if u can provide all this, then u are in good standing to score 67 points or more which qualifies u to get ur permanent resisdency.. New intake starts by January,I'll advise u to apply for ELTs now if ur really serious abt getting into d promise land!I applied in 2011 but my timming was wrong and my field was already filled up, my supporting documents and application fees $550( abt 90'k) was sent back to me..them nor touch even one naira..............................Bigmogo. U are right, one of the best ways one can get into canada is tru countries in Easter Europe, eg Poland.(But tru studies oh not visit)..I have had abt 6 of my friends who moved from warsaw to canada.just last month,a friend of mine studying in Helsinky finland moved to quebec canada tru exchange programme. But pls I beg u, do not try migrating from South africa ohh,dt place rugged die.

fados4sure: You can move to South Africa after sometime, you move to Ireland. S/A to Ireland is free visa.

what most Nigerians fail to realize is that a tourist visa does NOT give you any right to work in the destination country, its illegal to do that. you are to visit the country and come back willingly after expiry to avoid given yourself/your country a bad image and/or the termination of the visa free access just like the case of Czech republic to Canada

entering SA does not give you a preference in getting an Irish visa. Ireland might be a visa free to SA citizens, but not to resident of SA depending on your nationality. and do you think it really worth it trying to enter another country just to get a visa to another country ? (considering the time, money, mental and physical stress etc) of which there is no guarantee of you getting the visa ?

even if you enter any country successfully, since your aim is to do business, you should acquire the type of visa that would allow you to do business legally.

Lawbreaker, I hope your username does not represent the true you in reality lipsrsealed

I think the writer wanted to write IELTS ( International English Language Testing System). It is English language proficiency test and if u are not travelling for education purpose, u will register for general test, otherwise academic is i deal.
The cost ranges from 35k to 38 depending on ur mode of payment.
British Council is d Examination Body.

Its easy to enter the arctic region at the northern most points, through ocean or airdrop... Once you are in the deep arctic areas, they are sparsely occupied and you can enter Canada from the north unrestricted with or without documents.. Same applies for russia and even the USA state of Alaska...

The reason it it so easy to enter, is it is so hard to survive and make it out alive on foot or even with any land transport... So No one is crazy or equipped enough to be waiting there to arrest immigrants entering... But... The stress, hassle and life risk may be worse than passport and visa hassles... It may all be harder and riskier than theoretically staying in Nigeria and living as a street hawker in Ajegunle.. grin

Considering the exchange rate now, i will advice you to budget approximately #10,000,000(part tuition payment + balance + maintenance fund held in your bank account for six months)
