You created a thread to list 9, and you should have done justice to it by posting all instead of referring us to your site.

Well I dont need to know the languages in demand.

copied straightaway from http://www.techrepublic.com/article/is-sql-a-legitimate-programming-language/ weldone.. just remove it from the list...its nt in any way a PLang

SQL is a programming language as well as a query language. Do some reading about database stored procedures & stored functions, there you'd see the programming aspects of SQL

Op is confused.. You stated your list with SQL..?
Is SQL a programming language..?
Its an acronym for Structured Query Language...
Its can also be a database query system.. It is used by programming languages to store data in a well structured format...

Get your fact right before posting nonsense..

Uncle, SQL is a programming language on its own. But it just not like other languages. Checkout stack overflow and see the statistics from their latest survey. If ure not well grounded in an idea an someone else puts it forward dont attack them...

Good tittle with unhealthy content. Why placing java ahead of C++ . When we all know that both java and C# are all products of C++

Get me right dude!

SQL is mainly and a core database query language... It only has some few features that are similar to the pattern of programming...

1. SQL

SQL is a special-purpose language designed for managing data held in a relational database management system (RDBMS), or for stream processing in a relational data stream management system (RDSMS). It is also very common, with many variations like MySQL and Microsoft SQL. Microsoft SQL Server power big businesses, small businesses, hospitals, banks, universities. Indeed, just about every computer and person with access to technology eventually touches something SQL. For instance, all Android phones and iPhones have access to a SQL database called SQLite and many mobile apps developed Google, Skype and DropBox use it directly.

2. JAVA

Due to the continuous growth of Android, the number of Java positions available has Indeed gone up by almost 30,000 in 2017, as compared to 2016.
One of the most popular, most adopted and general purpose programming language used by millions of developers and billions of devices around the world. It is a class-based, object-oriented language and designed to be portable, which means that you can find it on all platforms, operating systems, and devicesIt’s also worth noting that JavaScript is the scripting language of the World Wide Web and is built right into all major web browsers including Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari. Almost every website incorporates some element of JavaScript to add to the user experience, adding to the demand for JavaScript developers.

why exactly you mentioned JavaScript while talking about java is what I don't understand? Is JavaScript in anyway related to java or OP isn't even a programmer

I code JS and C#. Of course, SQL na default grin
You shouldn't have added SQL to that list. SQL is data-centric and odd amongst others. Aside that, many people do not regard SQL. Maybe Oracle's PL-SQL, MS SQL Server/Sybase's T-SQL, PostgreSQL's PL-pgSQL and other RDBMS procedural equivalent.
By the way, JavaScript != Java

Actually; SQL is technically a programming language and as of StackOverflow's 2017 survey results which were released this week, it is the second most popular programming language now. Part of this is because there is almost no software application that doesn't have a DB component.

As the SQL acronym pronounces, it is a language. It offers looping, logic directives, variables, and so on. Now, it’s not a language in the same sense as, say, Java or C++: SQL is considered a fourth-generation language (4GL), whereas Java and C++ are third-generation languages (3GLs).
Fourth-generation languages are programming languages that are closer to human language than high-level languages like Java. These 4GLs are often used to accessdatabases, such as SQL, where humanlike syntax is used to retrieve and manipulate data.

just say it is descriptive rather than procedural.

some people consider descriptive languages to NOT be classified as programming languages but the general school of thought is that any instaruction to the computer is a programming language.

Nobody is doubting it. SQL appears odd on that list. That's my point.
Again, people do not regard SQL. Even Buhari, as dumb as he is, will master SQL in 6 hours.
