Has Science really helped us to draw closer to God or to move farther away from God....?

I have no problem with people making mention of God, however being slaves to the misunderstood word is a curse. A big curse that has slowed down the progress of the unfortunate humans indoctrinated with the false God ideology. I am not saying God is a bad word, instead it's meaning can empower you or reduce you to the role of a slave.

Science and Religion are both two sides to a coin. Science has actually drawn people to God as opposed to Religion. God is not what religion thinks it is. God is an advanced form life forms could ever find themselves. Science is moving man closer to this state than a Religion will ever do.

I am not saying Science is the only solution, but so far it has been. Although Science of today is still very much primitive. In a hundred years to now or maybe 400 years in measurement Time..... I have confidence that man would have found the means to get intune with its Prime Radiant, have to ability to channel it to perform wonders. Wonders our present mind cannot imagine now.

Religion has failed man. Look at them on nairaland, it is pointless. It talks about faith,which happens to be the use of mind power of achieve the unachievable.......instead the religionists hardly know what it is. What is the point of teaching faith when you all crowd a crusade night event. Are these the guys who were taught they could move mountains with their thoughts? Religion is pointless and not the way to God, Science has better potentials.

1.Science has nothing to do with gods!!! It is simply a method!!!

2.Your question is like saying, "does fufu take us closer to the tooth fairy?"

3.There is no evidence for naked men and women in the sky(The Greek gods)!!!

4.Which god are you referring to? Is it Chou Wang(Chinese god of sodomy?)......................I do not need science to move me further away from him!!!

Science ain't a religion.

scientific way of thinking vs religious way of thinking:

science:
start from the facts and then go to a conclusion that explains them.
if evidence contradicts with a conclusion you either admit it is wrong, you either change the conclusion or do more research to find more facts to defend it.

religion:
start from the conclusion and if possible find facts that(you think) they confirm it,other wise just keep talking like it is the truth.
if evidence contradicts to the conclusion then either deny the evidence or make up stories about the evidence or make more conclusions and never forget the argument"you can't prove other wise"

No conflict between Science and Christianity for instance. Only the premise differ.

In Christianity, Physical Science isn't the ultimate proof or solution to ALL problems. There exist a spiritual rhelm outside the reach of physical observation.

In pure Science, Physical Science should account for ALL proofs and solutions to ALL problems. There exist NOT any intelligent rhelm outside the physical.

A Christian Scientist is one who strikes a balance between the answer of pure science and his religion.

If not because scientists wrote programs that run the computer, he would insist that all there is to a computer is the hardware. Unfortunately, it is impossible to "measure or describe a code inside a computer" by any known physical attributes (mass, volume, energy, colour etc)

Finally, Christianity supports (isn't adverse to) Science as long as it doesn't conflict with devine knowledge and experience.
