I hope he doesn't say he was misquoted by November. Anyway I don't get all this finger wagging the mister is doing. The agriculture sector suffered from lack of investment and bad policy like everything else. Oil doesn't doesn't cause people to stop farming if it did Texas would a big agricultural state in USA. Anyway why did the dam get abandoned? 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Talk is cheap! This old man would even be the first to buy foreign rice... Reminds me of one very old man (older than mugabe) who said Nigerians must know that there would be no more fund for government workers going abroad for medical checkups...Few weeks after he made the statement, he ran abroad for treatment.. A country of fools, jokers, hyenas and hyenanas... 35 Likes 3 Shares |

This projection should include our neighboring countries as well, because we are their main source of rice, they troop everyday in their thousands to buy foodstuff in our markets. If we did'nt include their demands in our statistics we wont be able to beat those deadlines 3 Likes |

With all due respect Mr Ogbeh is far from the truth, where are the storage facilities and what's the average yield per hectare of our local rice species? How do we plan to get the produce to the target market? The man should answer these questions first . 7 Likes |

Blue3k: When we talk about people 'stopped farming', ask yourself who it is that we are talking about? Who is it that is always bragging about large arable lands and how they feed the nation (despite their grinding poverty and malnutrition) and you will immediately understand what the problem is. 1 Like |

If any one still eats foreign rice, the person is missing alot. try Abakaliki rice and you will forever hate foreign rice. the rice is full of energy and vitality. Even though Abakaliki rice is more expensive but it's worth it cos it got it's own taste. Foreign rice is forbidden in my family now 2 Likes |
