He is an engineer but his work require him to have a very fast data transfer card. . It's understandable that he opt for more ssd and more ram .. on a normal day he doesn't need high end graphics .. what he is no ready to accept is that your graphics is by farrrrrrrrrr better than his own

I will chose your laptop over his laptop even as an engineer because ssd and ram is replaceable. . GPU is not ...he is just bein sentimental
The reason why he invest on ssd and ram is understandable but it doesn't change the fact that your laptop is by far better .. and the ssd he is talking about is being sold at the rate of 1100$
My pm51 ssd is 450$ and it's two on my alienware
512gb + 512 gb and I still accept your laptop to be better

Mhen. Once your GPU and CPU are alright. Everything else is minor. GTX 1060 dah is not even smiling. Still amazes me how well this thing runs!

But as i said u need not be so happy of gpu while rubbish all other components with respect to overall performance. Just look at the blade servers use by the banking industry, each cost around 7 to 10 millions or more depending on the specs. The most efficient components in it are the ssd and the ram plus the cpu but not the gpu. Don't generalize that once u have a better gpu and some few rams ur system rocks. No, it depends on what u wanna use it for. At this juncture, good luck with ur system.
