Seriously, the comparison blike those days wen we never kw anything, we rate phones based on screen size grin, then some persons go carry Innjoo tab dey believe say na tablet b dat too grin.
Make I break this thing down for dem. The best Tecno phone in existence, the Phantom 6 plus is comparable to the Xiaomi Redmi note 4 mtk. In general the Redmi note 4x dey preferable to the Redmi note 4 mtk, so you imagine how baffled person b wen we go dey hear dem use INFINIX hot 4 pro or note 4 pro to compare shocked. Well from now the answer na to tell dem to go compare with Tecno Phantom 6 plus first cheesy.
I no sabi separate fight o.

I've been an mtk user for a while so obviously I enjoy rooting my phones.

so my questions are
1. does rooting the phone have conflicts or issues when doing an ota updates
2. is rooting the phone worth it?
3. what and what do I need to know pros and cons?

I guess some people still do

1. keep ads away with 'adaway' requires root and does a nice job. others like blokada, adguard, etc slows phone/network down(my observations)

2. uninstall bloatware

3. some apps that I use to keep phone together requires root. amplify, Android emulator, titanium backup (for Android backup), lucky patcher, Xposed framework/magisk, button mapper, root essentials etc

4. install custom ROMs( barely do it) , flash zip files/port apps from other ROMs. chai where do I start here? audio mods like Dolby Atmos is heavenly, viper4android, Maxx, AMD 3D zirene, flash .IMG files like mods of Sony so I can use my favorite Sony apps like Walkman, and camera mods, etc.

5. I like uninstalling system apps that I don't like and replacing them with ones I like by making them system apps. I've lost count of the system apps I've uninstalled and replaced them with choice ones.
I don't even have the stock messages, gallery, keyboard, launcher, dialer, etc.

6. I love spying people who mess with my phone with keylogger grin.
needs root access.

7. rooting just lets me control my phone

thank you sir

true. very true.
read about an Indian guy complaining on GSM arena how he was denied unlocking his device bootloader and when mi finally unlocked it he tried updating the updates they pushed and his phone lost the root access .that he has to re-root everytime he updates. but GSM arena folks can be funny and sometimes lie! so I brought this to the bosses on this forum to get guidance.

meanwhile another guy complained he has conflicts when and after updating his phone as some of his apps that requires root stops working.

Am I the only one whose RN4x takes some ample time to get fully charged?

Like from 0% to 100% takes approximately 2hrs 50minutes, while from like 55% to 100 takes about 1hr 50minutes to get fully charged, even when the phone is switched off while charging.

Cc. Protein0, Gptech, Fibonacci, Grandmufti, Toluwanimi, Jboixxx.

Below is an excerpt from GSM Arena Review on how Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 charging works (second paragraph):

Battery life
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a 4,100mAh battery, the same as the Helio model, but the energy efficient Snapdragon 625 should help it achieve a better battery endurance.

The Note 4 supports regular 5V/2A charging, which restores 25% of the battery in 30 minutes of charging, 95% in 2 hours, and 100% in 3h.

Indeed, the Snapdragon 625 chip lived up to our expectations. Combined with the large battery, the Redmi Note 4 easily scored one of the best results in our battery test with a 119-hour Endurance rating. It did a fabulous job in all tested scenarios - video, calls, web browsing and even stand-by performance.

The rating of 119 hours means you can rely on the Redmi Note 4 to last that long if you do an hour of 3G calls, web browsing, and video playback each day.

U don't need to be saucy when answering someone

Especially wen u r trying to be funny

Xiaomi is a complicated phone as I once stated

This is the only phone that has one model with both snapdragon n mtk versions

A phone u will need to change region just to get fonts

It's not an everyday anddy device, so if u can give him a good reply, pls do

Franky826 all I do is sell xiaomi devices

A model having two chip variants or changing region to get fonts ain't got nothing to do with the benefits of rooting. The pros and cons of rooting remains applicable to every Android.

When you update your Xioami phone, you normally lose root access, but it depends on the version of TWRP you have I think.
I updated recently via OTA and am still rooted.

Modified : Sorry for the delay misinformation, I actually lost root access, am not rooted anymore, haven't checked since the update.
