kenx1: You have a parasitic drain on your car. Do you have any after market gadgets installed on it. Have you checked your charging system if it's OK with the help of a multimeter not a bulb. What is the health status of your battery? Has a voltage drop test been carried out? If all the above are in order carry out a parasitic drain test |

This is definitely a parasitic drain .Parasitic drain occurs when you have an electrical devices or gadget drawing current after the ignition has been as been switched off. Under normal circumstance ,the current draw in the entire electrical systems should be less 50ma after ignition off and anything above is a signal that a load refuse to go off.The drain will eventually damage the battery if it is not repaired . You will need an mulitmeter that can read current and also have knowledge of electrical mapping of your car to trace the faulty accessory. Also confirm if any electrical work was done recently on your car |

Re: Help My Car Battery Drains Easily by honmusa(m): 8:08am On Sep 07, 2017 |
kenx1:Yes that is one possibility. Try to remove the power to the tracker and check if the drain issue has been resolved .And if it is the tracker that is the culprit ,u will need to confirm if the tracker can be configured to be in sleep mode and if it doesn't support sleep mode then you will need to get another tracker !! Any tracker that cannot go to sleep will cause a big drain on your battery !!! |

kenx1: Take your car to an automotive specialist. If you are unable to do that right now, please bear in mind that there are several reasons to which any could be the cause of the drainage, which may include lights or switches that won't go off, bad battery, alternator/diode issues or it could even be your car alarm system due to fact that it's been raining a lot with winds that could trip the alarm causing it to blare continuously, thereby causing the drainage. |
