Yes I know it was for 16 years but a cashier skimming 800 thousand dollars yearly shows proper checks & balances were not put in place to prevent frauds like that from occurring.
Cash is not air, it doesn't just disappear without a trace. For every cent pilfered means the stolen amount must have been posted somewhere, who is tracking those accounts to know if things are not matching? For example if revenue for a particular month says 10 mill dollars, cash received from revenue in the cash/bank account for that month is 8 mill dollars, you expect to find 2 mill sitting in the receivables. If not, something is wrong somewhere.
