I will advise you join a meetup,
I used to organise a training program for people interested in coding, but since my wife passed away, I haven't really recovered from the shock. And I'm not sure if or when I will start it again.

You must first identify why you want to programme. There are lots of languages. Think of a problem you want to solve.
Is it to
Build responsive Websites.
Develop games and apps
Develop desktop softwares
Etc.

These will tell what language (s) to start with.

Html, css, JavaScript /Jquery

Intermediate, PHP, Mysql or asp.Net

Start with coding for web, by the time you're done you will be able to grasp desktop, mobile and cloud programming languages.

Python is but naturally you should go for php or asp.Net after Html5 et Al.

Guys If you have a specific app in mind to make, then you can even start from C++, If not then start with HTML, then CSS, be good with at least the basics before moving over to JavaScript, do a lot of projects, on Youtube, Udemy, Lynda.com, then start doing your own projects, because by the time you do many of these mini projects on Youtube for example, you must have gotten an idea of your own mini project, just keep on practising, the first complete mini project I did is just a unit converter, I used HTML CSS and Js to do it and people think it is magic, while it is really nothing.
