Hello House
Can someone process my EOR refund on my behalf? Must I go there myself? as it is, I won't be able to travel down there any time soon.

You don't necessarily have to go there yourself. You can appoint a proxy to do it

Someone processed mine on my behalf and I've received my refund. Fill and sign the necessary forms, then send via courier or any other means to the person.

Nice one. Thanks. That's roughly a 0.82 exchange rate. I guess I may just go the dollar card route. Did you recently get the card? If yes, was it a seamless process?

The process of getting your GT Master credit card is seamless, you can even request via internet banking and go pick up once it’s ready(5 days). It’s better than using your local card for foreign payment.

the rates keep changing. As at Wednesday online converter gave me $1800 for 2230cad. I used first bank card and I was charged $1866. Just load like $2000 if it's a dollar card
Do you mean first bank dollar card? Can it be used for other payments like MCC ECA too?

Dear Nairaland family,
Silent reader in the house, I just thought to share my story as I have been so inspired by the posts on this forum. My Canadian journey started in 2015 when I wanted to further my education, 3 times my study permit was declined because of the most ridiculous reasons. I started pursing express entry actively in 2016, wrote IELTS 4 times, has great scores but my writing kept reading 6.5. After my 4th attempt, I requested for a remark in which my writing score was reviewed to a 7, with that, I was able to secure ITA.
Below is my timeline
ITA 7th August
AOR 24th August
Medicals passed 3rd September
IP 1 3rd September
Na2. 9th September
Adr 6th December
Ip2 6th December
Adr submitted 14th December
PPR 12th January.
Family of 4.

My application was not perfect but God covered it, I used a fixed deposit and I applied as a business owner (partnership to be precise). I had to show proof of business with proof of work done, receipts, pictures and written notes from clients, I turned in our company account bank statement as well. The Adr was for me to provide tax clearance certificates for the companies. This is just to say, self employed have no issues with express entry as long as you can prove the legitimacy of your business.
It's been a long and excruciating journey but God gave me the grace to sail through with losing my elements, I am extremely grateful to the Almighty God.
Never give up on your dreams, with God all things are possible and he makes all things beautiful in his time. Thank you all for the information freely shared on this forum, may God reward you all with your hearts desire.

Congratulations. Please share which visa office

Great people, please am having issues with my transcript from UI. Will appreciate if there is any known contact that can help speed things up. I have made all the necessary payments just for the transcript to be sent.

Is this test result more than 6 weeks? Did you apply for EOR on the writing section?

I sat for the test on the 16th of December 2017 and got the result on the 10th of January

@Emmasoni4me had asked for a very valid reason and he asked like a Dad..lol. Your scores are excellent. However it can be better. There is an opportunity to upgrade your writing score above the current value by urgently requesting for a remark of your writing test. This is what is referred to as Enquiry on Result (EOR). I think you should quickly pursue that option since it's still within the allowed timeline so as to help increase your CRS.

I had thought of this but processing time for that states it takes about 8-10 weeks to remark and have to pay AED 400 (#40,000) for this. Do you think i should go in this direction?

The authorization letter and copy of passport data page is to authorize the person to collect the new TRF on your behalf (if you've not collected it). For the refund, you will include the following: The refund forms, a copy of the EOR letter, a copy of the E-mail and your original EOR receipt.

40k for EOR? Maybe it's not BC sha.

Degree will be 21 points. Your total points is 66 which means you are not eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker program. I will advise you to retake your IELTS test and aim to score a minimum of 8777 in LRSW so you can be eligible.

Why not try EOR especially for that writing. More often than not, there's usually am increase in score. Don't forget the target is to get at least 8777 in LRWS.

But why the much disparity in cost of EOR? I expected there processes to be standardized. It's difficult to decide now considering the cost, but don't forget that there's no guarantee of getting same or better scores on the other sections if you re-sit for the exam. You have seen you need that upgrade to even be eligible in the FSW.

Good luck as you take decision on the best route for you.
