Hi, will that be graduate or postgraduate? If postgraduate send me a mail.

Great people, please am having issues with my transcript from UI. Will appreciate if there is any known contact that can help speed things up. I have made all the necessary payments just for the transcript to be sent.

Hello People,

Just a random question, what happens when you get COPR but your medicals or passport expire before you land in Canada? Does the whole process start afresh or you just resubmit passport and new medicals?
Meaning your PR visa will expire before landing. You have forfeited your Visa. You won't even be allowed to leave naija cos of expired visa and COPR. You'll have to start the entire process process again from entering the express entry pool.

Yeah I know jare. I was not planning to leave this year. Was looking at next year. We have a project at hand and my family ties here are just holding me back. Not hurrying for school either, my first son turns 4 next year. It's not a bad idea though.
Will give it a thought. Thanks.

But your application will be processed in time for summer so why not target summer 2018 and then the children will start school in September? Your processing can’t pass 6 months and that’s 8 months away. That way, you will aclamatise before winter 2018 sets in.

I do notthink your answer is right, however, I stand to be corrected...haba, start over again? just because of Expired Naija passport and Expired Medicals??
Well I think during the PPR, your passport should be valid for the next 12months before you now have the COPR. So if you are still in Naija for another 11 months after COPR, that means you intentionally forfeited the visa.

My take on this is that if your application is still being processed 1-2 months before your medicals expire, IRCC will either a) extend your medicals if you're inland or b) request new ones if you're outland.

Moreso, you'll be asked to redo your medicals if and when they're about to expire. Your CoPR will be valid for as long as your new medicals are valid. However if you had lots of time to land but just didn't get around to it, you may be out of luck and have to apply from scratch again. It's really up to the visa office.

Your COPR expires when your medicals or international passport expires. Which ever comes first. It is stated in your COPR. And you can't go anywhere with expired COPR. It's no longer valid. It is stated in the COPR that you MUST land while your COPR is still valid. And the expiry date CANNOT be extended.

Cheers.

Good morning all. This thread has really been helpful to me since I joined in 2016. I've written my ielts and scored (LWRS-9,7.5,7.5,7). I've also applied to WES for evaluation and still waiting on my school to send my transcript. I'm single but I intend to add my spouse (Naval Officer) when I submit my application. Now my challenge is his military job. From Canada visa thread I have read so many delay (1year) cases and that is making me think twice about adding him to my application now. Is it possible we exclude his military from his application since he isn't the PA? Pls I need your thorough advice on this. Has any military officer succeeded in moving as a PA or dependant?

Make sure your wedding date actually falls after AOR before adding him.
Being totally silent on his military job may backfire if they find out. That will result in a 5 yr ban which is much longer than the 1 yr wait (which isn’t cast in stone anyway) that you’re trying to avoid.
The only other option is to apply as single if you’re in so much hurry to enter Canada. The downside of that approach will also be the long wait involved in sponsoring a spouse.
Think it through properly.

In the case stated by inception12 the COPR has been received already. Meaning the COPR will have an expiry date equal to the expiry of the international passport or medicals, depending on which comes first

In that case then, I think the last paragraph in my opinion above would apply. I stand to be corrected though.

Hello @newmum0615 please can you help me check that I didn't over copy NOC 4031 (PHE teacher in secondary school) I got my reference letter today.
1. Teach students using a pre approved lecture note, textbook and other materials
2. Administer and correct classwork as well as homework
3. Prepare and grade tests and examination papers.
4. Attend all staff meetings
5. Evaluate each student and document their program and improvement.
6. Discuss progress of students with the school authorities when necessary.
7. Attend parents-teachers meetings and discuss each student 's process with parents.
8. Council students on personal hygiene and health.

Please my 2nd question is that I hope it doesn't matter that my reference letter carries today's date when I plan to submit my application around April.

Thanks

It does not matter. It is expected that work reference letter be collected after ITA (about 3 months validity) if it is still a current employment

Hi guys. kindly help with compression options for PDF. I have used small PDF to compress my POF docs from 75mb to 14.5mb and ilovepdf and smallpdf says they cannot compress anymore without significant loss of quality.

Please help, what do i do to compress this further to the 4MB or so IRCC accepts.

Dear Nairaland family,
Silent reader in the house, I just thought to share my story as I have been so inspired by the posts on this forum. My Canadian journey started in 2015 when I wanted to further my education, 3 times my study permit was
Below is my timeline
ITA 7th August
AOR 24th August
Medicals passed 3rd September
IP 1 3rd September
Na2. 9th September
Adr 6th December
Ip2 6th December
Adr submitted 14th December
PPR 12th January.
Family of 4.

My application was not perfect but God covered it, I used a fixed deposit and I applied as a business owner (partnership to be precise). I had to show proof of business with proof of work done, receipts, pictures and written notes from clients, I turned in our company account bank statement as well. The Adr was for me to provide tax clearance certificates for the companies. This is just to say, self employed have no issues with express entry as long as you can prove the legitimacy of your business.
It's been a long and excruciating journey but God gave me the grace to sail through with losing my elements, I am extremely grateful to the Almighty God.

You just have to rescan this documents with a lesser resolution. No way a 14.5mb document can be compressed to 4mb.

Thanks for your input. I successfully compressed it with an online PDF service but the bank statements texts and some other texts got really blurred. If i scan again using a lower DPI, it will end up worse...this is really confusing.

You are welcome to the DIY thread.

First use this to check you crs scorehttp://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Prepare well, register and write IELTS (General) and aim for LSRW 8777

Then evaluate your highest degree alone (Masters, Bsc or HND+ND)

Try and read page 0 part 3
