Latest price list for Xiaomi products abeg. Note 5 pro should be included. grin grin

The only way u can get ur hands on that note 5 pro is by ordering on flipkart and other india mobile retail outlets. You can't get it from aliexpress until it launches in China. Which is not certain for now.

They tried with the Note 5 pro design even if it looks like the iPhone X. At least it's not the same as the Note 4.

Also it's not even just about the price but the price and the specs combo.

No fast charging. That part is weird. However, a software update can fix that.

I don't think software update can do anything, though a third party patch helped in Redmi note 3, I doubt something like that will be available for this model. Has something to do with paying Qualcomm royalties because the SOC does support QC 3.0.

software definitely matters, redmi 5 plus which is the same as redmi note 5 has fast charge, techtablets reviews says so, but u have to buy adapter. Mi A1 has but it was recently enabled by the oreo update, this particular one was possible through update. Even redmi note 4 charges faster with some custom roms

I hop such won't be applicable to Redmi Note 5

@paulmarkino abeg can you kindly help answer few questions on ebay shopping;
1. What payment method do you utilize exactly? Cos I don't think the paypal checkout for master and visa's debit card is still working in Nigeria.
2. How long does your package take averagely to get to Nigeria?
3. Do they give tracking number like aliexpress?
4. And how do you compare the experience with Aliexpress shopping.
5. If you have any info on Amazon shopping to Nigeria directly, will appreciate info on that too.

I don't think so bro, I do watch some of his videos and I have heard him made some wrong calls concerning specification.

Note: I watched that particular Redmi 5 plus unboxing review and the '24hrs later' follow up video.

it has quick charge, u can check miui forums, even if xiaomi does not pay royalty, qc can still be added later as seen in mi a1, once the processor n the battery has qc support.

I understand the Mi A1 anomaly but that is very easy to understand based on the fact that it utilises stock like Android rom.
Concerning the Redmi Note 4 charging fast, I have personally not seen anything on the net pointing to charging fast like faster than normal 'fast charge' AKA QC 1.0. You can kindly support your claim with factual evidence.
You also have to put into consideration that custom roms are a different ball game. We talking something that can be easily achieved by average users.
On Redmi 5 plus, kindly check the screenshot of GSMArena's review below concerning your fast charging claim (i.e. Faster than normal '5V/2A')

As for me, I take GSMArena over techtablets.

You should ask the question, is it the same story with Mi 5x that is the same device save for the different rom utilized? undecided

And make sure your reply is based on average users not techies that can flash anything flashable.

gsmarena too make mistakes, the screen shot is from miui forum, just Google it. I may be banned for posting link so I shared a picture. Stock or miui doesn't matter, kernel controls a lot of things, if xiaomi is ready, an update which includes additions of quick charge is possible, provided they pay for the royalty. As of redmi note 4, I personally used a kernel that supports charging up to 2.5a, I'm waiting for bootloader unlock, I'll have shown u screenshot as i recently acquired a note 4 again.

Apologies for derailing this thread this much na network dey act up. lipsrsealed

@acekid109 I later checked YouTube and saw a particular video showing the quick charge capability of Redmi 5 plus.
I guess there is something Xiaomi is not mentioning concerning Redmi note 4 not supporting and Redmi 5 plus supporting. The whole issue is kinda controversial if you ask me.

For the record @acekid109 is right, if you want quick charge and not just the QC 1.0 but higher kindly get yourself a QC 3.0 charger, it will charge way faster.
In addition check the version of your rom too.

Xiaomi na master of confusion, redmi note 4 and redmi 5 plus are not that difference, they didn't even announce support for QC in all the ads n spec sheet of the, i doubt if most users will know especially those that like to play it safe with their devices.

Things don't work like this. Production costs are taken into consideration before deciding a unit's selling price. Paying royalties for quick charge on a midrange /budget series would shoot up the price and defeat the aim of producing such phones. That's why they're taking the risk with qc on flagships.

i meant if it isn't paid during production xiaomi can later make provision for it , look at the case of mi A1, xiaomi are proponents of great value for midrange devices but small things like quick charge and usb c are things that turn off some users. Not a lot of pple aill like to hack their devices to make it charge fast

lol, most of this Kernel support aosp only, i like stock android feel pass miui, n stock self plenty for am. I use ugreen quick charger, charging is not that extremely fast but within 1hr 45min its full. I dey fear to use it self cos some users claims the hack damaged their redmi note 3. But the device doesn't get any hotter than it should be when charging
