I agree with Ohaneze 100%. I really do wish Nigeria is a one mother tongue country. I am currently working with some Italians. When they dont want you to understand what they want to say, they switch to their language and you hardly hear them speak in english when they are amongst themselves.
The yoruba and hausa are trying. but the igbo man, speak igbo to him and he'll want to impress you with queen's english.

No people who use English as their official language can progress. China, Korea, India, Iran, etc., all use their various languages for writing, Engineering, programming and signalling. It is very difficult to spy on their activities and secrets. Nigeria has no secret because we are using English for EVERYTHING.
