Even to upload o'level results which was used for the admission in 2016, the candidates had to pay the same amount they'd have paid if it were to be written putme.

Why stress students to write jamb in the first place when post jamb willl still be conducted?. Why is Nigeria's case different from other countries

They keep encouraging cheating....they will raise requirement to what is not attainable except you are extra ordinary brilliant or u cheat...

This is very simple! A student that read all night and manage to get C4 will not get admission, while olodo that bribe his/her way to get A1 will be admitted...


If u watch those doing fine you will see that they are children who are brilliant or average, who got the admission with their sweat and hard work....Those that got C4 on their own without expo here are always one of the best outside the country after the brilliant ones...


My take...if a student can score C6 in any subject under tight and good supervision such student should be admitted in any higher institution

GOD bless you for that question, one of the reason Nigeria never does well is because we never ask questions most especially when someone we believe is credible for a position speaks...many students are intelligent but find it hard to assimulate when it comes to the method of teaching of certain lecturers...also imagine in a class where more than 200 students are made to squeeze themselves inside a small 'room' just to attend lectures tell me how one can learn and understand in such an inconvenient situation and environment...if you decide to read the lecturers handout, you may end up gettng confused becos the lecturers won't explain the topics well...most lecturers ain't even worthy to be called lecturers...at the end of the day if the students fail, its the fault of the students 'who didn't read there books'....forgetting to put the blame on the school and its workers(lecturers).

if you want to have good grades in ui, don't exceed 18 years old before you gain admission, because most things you will be taught in 100 level is bit little advance secondary school subject, but if you entered at 25 years old my brother sunami might be your case especially if you are admitted into faculty of agric and forestry, largest sunami airport in ui. if you want to study medicine, surgery, pharmacy, anatomy, physiology, physiotherapy once you fail chemistry 157, you are no more in college of medicine, just sharpaly go change course to statistics, maths, botany, agric etc.

UI has always believed in postutme and universities having the power to admit based in its own standards and procedures.

Useless excuse. So post ume is to blame. During his own time as a student was post ume singled out as a cause for failure

Professor Idowu Olayinka, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan on Wednesday revealed that the institution would expel about 328 students for what he called ‘shameful academic results’ in the recently concluded 2016/2017 academic session.

The UI’s Vice Chancellor, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan Wednesday blamed the situation on the absence of Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination test before the affected students were admitted.

Olayinka revealed further that the university compiled the list of the affected students following the “meeting of the University Senate held on March 19 and 20 to deliberate on the 2016/2017 academic results of the final year and non – final year students.”
He said the affected students did not meet up with the minimum condition approved by the university Senate.

He said, “One out of every nine of the 100 level students did not meet the minimum condition to retain their studentship,” he said.

Its very essential as an intellectual to make proper research before drawing hasty conclusions. For your info, exams were not conducted but students were still mandated to pay for the admission screening fees,so what are you insinuating?.
When you're expected to remain updated, informed and inquisitive with your time, you end up doing irrelevant things.

This is sad especially for the parents who have spe t much so far on the students.

There was no post UME during Bamiro's tenure, yet the number of students who did not measure up was insignificant. Why did Adewole and his cohorts (which include current VC) stopped Bamiro's mode of admission and opted for Post UME? To make money they abandoned what worked to pursue shadow. Awon ole, greedy set of human beings.

So many factor can contribute to a student's failure.If really you pass through there on your own,u will understand what I mean.

The students in question should have known their strength before opting for the first and the best. It is very disheartening to see that some students in Ui including finalists and extra year students could hardly write something that justify being awarded 40 as passed mark. Sometimes you just look for where to award marks and you can hardly find.

Ui system there's fairness. And 99% of academic staff have what it takes to be in the system.
