If she wasn't specifically asked about her purpose she didn't need to discuss her birthing. The CBP officer may be less concerned as regards wether she is birthing or not. He might have seen enough pregnant women for that day. This has happened to several people here in the past. Let's not create panic where there is non.

I'm not sure this is entirely true. My husband and I submitted our passports 1month to expiration via Dropbox and we were not called for interview. His was ready after 7 working days and mine was ready for collection after 12working days. Since it's just for vacation, can u wait till May before renewal?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by FFavouredOne: 10:54am On Apr 10, 2018
@micafe I saw you guys, I must have been the first pregnant woman they attended to today. I was denied also. I was hoping they would give you guys and the other lady.

I've been studying the page silently and was going to give feedback either I got it or not.

my transcript is below;

Vo: Good morning
Me: good morning
Vo: why are you going to the us?
Me: To have my baby in the US
Vo: Why would you want to have your baby in the US?
Me: I would like access to a better medical care and opportunity for dual citizenship for my child.
Vo: Tell me about your job
Me; I work with a top xxxxxxx, as xxxxx, (I detailed every bit of recent projects at work etc)
Vo: Your husband, what does he do (He mentions hubby's first name)
Me: He's a Bleep and partner in one of the top law firms xxxxx, I have his work documents here, I could show you.
Vo: There's no need for that. Has be been to the United states before?
Me: Yes he has, (Was going to tell him about the conference he attended but VO cut's in)
Vo: How long have you been married?
Me: A year and 4 months (He replies with the month and I nod)
Vo: Have you ever travelled outside Nigeria?
Me: Yes I was in Dubai last year (states month) for my honeymoon
Vo: How much have you budgeted for this trip?
Me: About 15,000 dollars, I could show you my correspondence and my budget sheet.
Vo: Don't worry. How long have you been saving for this trip?
Me: About a year and kicked up when I found out I was pregnant ( I was in the middle of stating that hubby would sponsor with his business account blah blah, then he says to hold on, types and says the sorry thing).

Didn't review the document.
Should I have been saving for a longer period as wedding is just a little over a year sef.
I'm not certain of reapplying except I can confirm a date in the first few weeks of May.

BTW I applied for B1/B2 but I don't think that's the case, because he could have given any one he thinks my reasons deserve.

Hello People,
Please I have a few questions, forgive my ignorance;

I currently have a B1/B2 visa expiring in June and I intend to renew via drop-box. However, my passport expires Jan 2019 and my planned trip is in October and I may not be back before the passport expires.

1. Giving the current trend of ‘no passport booklet’, can I travel with my old passport in October even if I have started the process of passport renewal? Just incase it is not ready before I intend to travel. Is this allowed?

2. If yes to my first question, what happens if my passport expires while I am still in the US? And I still haven’t received the new passport.

Thank you.

Yes I believe you can travel with it without any issues.
Renew when you get back

Even when I wasn't asked?....haha....that one is over-syllabus. The guy basically asked one question "what food did you declare?" Please how should I have answered the question?
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by chibertha(f): 5:21pm On Apr 10, 2018
Answer
1) your passport should be valid at least 6 months from the time you land at POE but we have 5 months to expiry date here

2) if answer was yes you can go and return with the same passport no body will stop you from entering Nigeria even if it expiered over 5 years.
In 2014 I came back with a guy who had the passport before this current E passport we are using now from a country in Europe.
I also witness a girl who came to renew her passport in PHC immigration office .her passport was still valid for six months after she got to school in the country she was going to, this no booklet issue too was the case so her dad asked same question
the no.2 answer was what he was given.

Answer to your questions:
1. Yes, however you must be back atleast a day before the expiry date. Excerpts from the U.S visa in Nigeria website"Visitors traveling to the U.S. are required to be in possession of passports that are valid for six months beyond the period of their intended stay in the U.S. Citizens of the countries listed on Six Month Club Update are exempt to the six-month rule and need only have a passport valid for their intended period of stay. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-visawaiverinfo.asp#Requirements "
Nigeria is one of the countries exempted from the six-month rule.

2. I guess the response above answers this question. Generally, I will advise you apply for a new passport if you are not certain you'll be back before the current passport expires.

Please how much is your doctors fee?

Deebabe13:
Hi everyone. I am a silent reader on this thread and just thought to share my POE experience. I arrived Miami Florida yesterday via Virgin atlantic from lagos to London and London to Miami. My final destination was tampa though so i flew American airlines to tampa from Miami.

I used virgin because i wanted to break the journey and have a long wait so that i can go into london and rest for the night. So we arrived London 4.30pm and i went straight to immigration and used my existing uk visa to gain entry. The officer just asked how long i intended staying in the UK and i said 1 night cus am just transiting. He stamped me in and didn't ask any further question.

I checked into a hotel close to the airport and terminal 3 which is virgin atlantic terminal and rested for the night as my next leg of travel was the next day at 11.35. I left the hotel the next day ay 8am and got to the airport in 6mins using the Heathrow hoppa bus. I went straight to the counter to get my boarding pass as my bags were already checked in from lagos directly to Miami.

The journey to miami from london was 9 hours which was smooth. I arrived Miami at about 3.50pm US time, i went directly to the immigration but was advised to use the self service, i used the machine and printed out the receipt which was successful, then queued to see an immigration officer, it got to my turn and i was asked if i was in the US for business and i said NO that i was here to have my baby, he said how long do i intend to stay and i said 2 months. He said goodluck and stamped me in. It was so smooth that i cldn't believe it myself as i had prepared all the documents of life.

I went straight to the belt and my bags were already waiting, i didnt declare anything and i had lots of foodstuff like garri, beans, egusi, ogbono, green indomie, knorr maggi cubes, pepper, black fish, grinded crayfish and pepper soup ingredients. I just went ahead, picked my bags and that was it.

My doctors appointment is tommorrow and i will update u guys on cost and hospital shortly.

Thank u and i wish myself a successful and stressless delivery!

so i decided to call them myself on friday and noticed this bill came from a clinic called Pediatrix nothing changed...then i remembered a discussion about them earlier on this tread which i felt they wouldnt be the ones handling my LO delivery..
they have a healthy baby package which is to be paid before delivery and that is supposed to cost $675....will call on monday and see if i could still get the package

pls for those that haven't delivered you might also try and find out about this information to avoid unnecessary cost ...thanks

Os ur bargaining power thay matters. I used Esedebe too and i got a bill of $1175 from pediatrix and after much bargain i paid $587.50 within a stipulated time if not i would hv to pay the $1175.

Hi All

Came in through Houston POE last week.

CBP: Why are you here
ME: Vacation and child birth
CBP: Can i see your doctors letter ,( glances through) ,
CBP: why do you have to pay such large amount upfront ( Shakes his head)

He scans my fingers ,stamps my passport till October and says we are free to go, he ddnt stamp my toddlers blue pali sha

That was all, i was like shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked . ...Anyways was happy and left

We picked our plenty bags , then one overzealous agriculture guy decided to intercept us, asked where we are from once we said Nigeria he took us to scan all bags, he sha seized my 12 indomie Oriental fried noodles ( Orange pack), and pointed to the picture of the chicken on it and found one tiny print that said it had chicken flavour angry angry, we sha carried our bags and left.

Thank God for favour all the way....

paid for hospital and doctors, using HNWMC, its to figure to how to pay for this healthy baby package let me not enter one chance with pediatrix

All the best to us all, and wish us safe deliveries
