We demand an apology !!!

Where are the lenovo fans right now ? Probable hiding behind those “bezeless” phones. Those are some of the funny comments from angry fans shortly after the unveiling of much hyped, talked about Lenovo Z5. Prior to the release, vice president of lenovo, Mr Cheng Chang stunned the world with teaser images of this mysterious all-screen Lenovo flagship phone about to hit the market. He began posting these photos on Chinese version of Twitter, Weibo. Images showed a phone with no visible ear speaker, no front facing camera, no bezel anywhere on the phone which was different from what was released!

He also succeeded in stirring up more controversy with follow up claims that this mysterious new phone is also coming with 4 Terabyte (TB) of storage, 45 day battery life and so on. Guess what, turns out it was all a blatant lie. We all know tech giants tells lies from time to time, exaggerating the specs of devices as part of their marketing strategy but not to come forward with a broad daylight lie. Below are some of the lies VP of Lenovo, Mr cheng told about the phone.

1. All-Screen bezeless display. A big fat lie!



I wonder when this lie in form of marketing strategy is going to end. We know a lot of progress has been made in the effort to release an all screen phone with companies like Vivo, Apple etc coming up with solutions and something close to bezeless but the truth is that there’s no truly bezeless phone in the world right now. The Lenovo Z5 after its release only comes with a screen to body ratio of 83% against the 95% it claimed in its teaser images.

2. A 45 day battery life, like seriously?



Not even Xaiomi, ZTE or even Tecno Pouvoir with 5000 mAh battery capacity can boast of such but not only did Mr Cheng tell us the phone will give us 45 day standby time, he even teased further that the phone will give up to 30 minutes talk time at zero percent! Another miserable lie. Turns out that the phone was unveiled with only 3,300 mAh of battery capacity.

3. Packing 4TB of storage capacity. A pot belly lie!



Who even need a whopping 4TB storage space in a smartphone? Lenovo got everyone excited with this feature and I’m sure even smartphone giants like Apple and Samsung will be shocked to their bones that a small company like lenovo with just 3% smartphone market share is coming out with this bombshell innovation. But it was a lie as usual, at the unveiling Lenovo didn’t say anything about the phone having a 4TB storage, rather it launched a 4TB cloud storage device that’s almost as expensive as the phone itself. How disappointing.

Now all these lies we busted doesn’t mean the phone is a total flop, No. The phone is still a powerful phone with massive 6.2 inch FHD display, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB ROM and the good part of it is that the price is quite affordable. For just $202, you can get the lower version and $281 you can get the higher version. The Lenovo Z5 is still an amazing phone with an amazing price tag but it still doesn’t change the fact that we’re angry and disappointed with all these lies. We however demand a heartfelt apology from Mr Cheng Chang!
